I get to go to Vegas for a job interview and while I doubt I will have much free time (I am not making the travel plans), I bet I will have a little.  SO I am trying to come up with the must do's of Vegas incase I have free time.

So far I only have 1 thing on my list:
1. Dancing fountains at the Bellagio

Well I guess 2:  SHOOT THE TERRORIST WHILE HANGING UPSIDE DOWN ON A REPEL LINE!!!!!

But in all seriousness let me know if there are any other great attractions that I need to check out.  Keep in mind short time frame and limited budget...after all....college student going to vegas for the first time for a JOB interview.

I only do 2 things in Vegas:

1) Gamble
2) Eat at the finer establishments

Both of these seem to be out of the price range you are suggesting.  That being said, if you decide to make the wise decision to starve yourself for a week in order to enjoy a quality Vegas meal, let me know and I will make recommendations.

hahahaha true dat!  I mean...I am not looking to spend $100 a meal for myself....I wouldn't mind spending $30-50 for a good meal.  I might gamble if I have time...and If I win I would be more likely to spend more.

If you have time at night , head over to the old strip.  Much of the entertainment is outside on the strip(free) and is, well, entertaining.  Food/shows are the only other thing but thats definately $$$.

You could just gamble and try and win some money to eat at the finer establishments.

You probably don't have the time but you could also find a drunk rich high roller cougar and marry her, then get her money and not even have to worry about the job at all.

seafood buffet is 30 bucks. though i can't remember the casino it's at. just plan that the line will probably take an hour to almost 2 hours to get through during peak times. blackjack, even if you dont know how to play just print out a basic strategy and bring it with you, or ask the dealers.

I am well versed in casino games and operations.  As far as gambling goes I know the basics of every game and know which bets are sucker bets and which aren't.

Hmm... $30-50?  Is that with or without alcohol?

If you don't have much time and you just want to kill the little time you have then just explore the strip, walk up and down and see what's out there. Half the fun I have in Vegas is just sight-seeing, the shows are a bore anyways.

Of course, there's always strippers and call-girls but that's always what makes the trips so expensive slywink

yeah...I don't think I would have time to go to any shows.  I just looked.  Where I am is 1 mile the stuff I am interested in...so it is a very easy walk.  I think I might look into it more when they send me my travel plans and specific dates.  Right now I only have a general date in mind.....

Your first mistake was scheduling a job interview in Las Vegas when you should have been considering Phoenix.  I can't be of any help to you in Las Vegas.

Just skip the interview and head south.  Beer is on me.

Basically walk down the strip starting(at night) at Treasure Island, and you'll catch the Pirate Ship Show...The Volcano...The Bellagio, and a few other smaller scale things, all within like a 30minutes of each other. After that, you've seen all the free entertainment thats worth seeing. Now take the bus to the Las Vegas Outlet mall and get everything for cheap and your set.

Also go to Freemont street, thats the old strip, its really cool. They have a sweet video type presentation on the roof, and the screens like 3 city blocks in size.

Silly kids.. YOU DON'T SLEEP IN VEGAS.  Just gamble and drink red bull, no need to sleep! My longest stretch was around 3-4 days (somewhere in between) before I had to give in and sleep for a few hours.

You need to shoot machine guns at "The Gun Store". That was my high light last trip.. Might just be a Canadian thing though.. We don't often get to shoot fully automatic weapons (M16, SAW etc).

Oh and don't forget about the whores. Every woman I ran into in vegas seemed to be a pro.

Vegas is about money and sex. Forget about the latter unless you have/win some of the former.

It doesn't cost anything to walk thru a casino. Many moons ago I spent a whole day touring the strip, stopping into the more interesting places to play some nickel video poker and drink free watery booze. You can survey most of the strip for $50 worth of video poker and $2 per drink, assuming they still have nickel machines and free drinks (it's a lot of years since I was there). This itinerary is a little light on cocaine and whores.
