Life on Mars replacement series starts tonight at 10pm EST on ABC. I wonder who the great mind behind this move was, 'let's replace one off-beat cop show set in NYC with another off-beat cop show set in NYC'.
anyone else going to catch it?

I have not heard of this show. If I get out of work to watch it, I may give it a look. It's got to be better than the first episode of Surviving suburbia, Bob Saget's new show.

hus stand up stuff can be pretty hilarious at times, but I think it's more the fact that you're watching the dad from Full House swearing like a sailor than anything else.

Watched it... alright I guess but nothing too awesome thus far. At least it set up some interesting things for a continuing storyline as opposed to just being episodic.

I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. The cast looked interesting - Amber Tamblyn, Adam Goldberg, Harold Perrineau, Terry Kinney (is there an 'OZ' connection to this show?). I believe the creator is the same guy behind Bones, which is a decent show.

I didn't get home in time, but I have it set to record next week for a trial.
Life is awesome imo. The second season finale was last night. I picked up the first season (11 episdoes) on DVD from an Amazon sale. I'm actually surprised that Season 2 was 21 episodes. It seems like it went by a lot quicker than that.

Watched it last night with the wife, and we enjoyed it. Probably not something I would go out of my way to watch, but as my wife likes to watch the American Idol results show, we're sitting in the living room anyway, so we left it on. It seems we really enjoy the "unusual" cop shows, such as Lie to Me, we loved The Shield, and now The Unusuals. The humor was funny, the characters were certainly unusual and interesting, but it's too early to tell if the show will have legs. It is a bit weird in a Pushing Daisies sort of way (although the same could be said of Better Off Ted). There was a Vince and Jules Pulp Fiction moment which I found to be a bit much, but while the show on the surface looks to be a quirky lighthearted cop show, there were some deeper story elements that seem to imply that the show will go down a much more dramatic path. Time will tell.

I rented disc one of Life from Netflix and couldn't get into it. I'm kind of surprised how many season finales it seems like we're having and it's only April.

finally got around to watching it and really liked it, which means it'll be dead soon. Amber Tamblyn is a hottie- I LOL'd when she took the falsies out at the beginning.

Here's a link. Bummer, I really liked the show too and I'm not usually a fan of cop shows. Well at least they're going to show the final four episodes starting May 27th.

I guess I'm just not really all that captivated by television shows and it takes something truly special to keep me coming back week after week. Sure, I enjoyed the episode or two of The Unusuals that I watched, but there just wasn't enough there to make me want to actually set aside the time necessary each week to watch the next show. I think it's in part due to when the show airs, and also while the show was interesting, it wasn't interesting enough to keep me captivated or to feel compelled to watch what happens next.
Perhaps it's just television in general. For example, I enjoy Lie To Me and watch it each week with my wife, but I'm not completely invested in each show, sometimes working on dinner in the kitchen or looking up from my book from time to time to see what is currently taking place, but I just don't seem to go out of my way to watch any show on television anymore.
Food Network seems to get more of my attention than any other network. Sure, it's sad to see another show that may have had some potential go, but I guess I'm not all that surprised and not really all that broken up about it.

I caught the episode tonight after the lead in from Wipeout. I'm sorry that I didn't pick up on it earlier. Any show that uses this as the music for a chase/shootout was worthy of me watching it.

Hehe, I heard that today and I was like "Tunak!!!" We used to play that in the dormroom... good times. This is disapointing though, as I've only caught about half the episodes but I really have enjoyed the series.

While it has little to do with The Unusuals, fans of Jeremy Renner need to check out the trailer for The Hurt Locker. Wow. Just, wow. A must-see for me.

I can't believe they cancelled another show I like. Lots of good material to work with and a great cast. Are they hiring morons as studio execs now? (Well, they probably have been for quite awhile)

stop liking series I like! I had a feeling this one would be short lived though, especially after I saw Adam Goldberg was in it. for some reason that guy just gave me a bad vibe about its survivability.
