I know I promised in an earlier thread that I would post updated tattoo pics. So, with apologies for my hairyness, here are my tattoos. Back piece: My right leg is still a work in progress: My right arm: My left arm: The theme will be my right side is covered by Aliens while my left side will (eventually) be covered by Predators and then they will meet in the middle of my back and fight it out. The existing back piece wil be left alone and should not interfere as I have lots of room on my lower back yet.

My wife also has some work done on her as well. Ankle: Foot (commemorating her favorite cat, Max, who passed in December of 06): She has two back pieces (Betty Boop and a Macaw): And she has a turtle on her tummy: However, my favorite piece by a long shot is this one: So, let's see what you've got.

I've always wanted to get a large traditional Chinese dragon (shocking, I know) with pearls in its claws. In the pearls would be the names of the styles that I have a black belt. I was told that it would be "Very bad for my career" when I planned to get it when I was in the military. Now I'm just reluctant till I'm back in shape.

I don't see "Ashley" in that... I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to tie the tats I have on my shoulders with a back piece representative of my daughter

I don't see "Ashley" in that... I can kind of see it. The letters are backward because it's taken from a mirror.

Yeah, its backward because of the mirror, but if you have trouble seeing it, even better That was the point. I would know it, and if I pointed it out to you, you would see it, but if you looked at it, you wouldn't know right away. The next arm is going to be a half sleeve of a bunch of stuff. Getting drawn up as we speak... -dback

I had a buddy in college that had the coolest turtle/underwater scene on his shoulder/arm. I wish I had a pic to post of it.
No tats for me, however.

None for me. I have no desire for one and even if I did, I don't think I could settle on something that I would be happy with the rest of my life LOL.
To each their own though and some of those above are really cool.

Sweet man, we've uncovered Saquatch! And his name is Brian! hehe Nice tattoos though, and your wife has some awesome ones as well. Love the turtle and the Maiden. Would she be upset if you posted a normal picture of her? I don't have a tattoo, but I do have this:

Correct. Would she be upset if you posted a normal picture of her? Define normal? I took one of her this morning in the shower but she expressly forbade me from posting that one. Which is too bad cuz it turned out great! I can try to dig up the pics from our trip through Garden of the Gods. Some of those turned out pretty good. I don't have a tattoo, but I do have this: You should get those tattoed with ON OFF

I know nothing about weaponology - in fact, at first I thought that picture was a paintball gun. What was it? Looked scary powerful. And nice pics!
In case anyone was wondering... double lumen port-a-cath. I've often thought it'd be fun to turn them into two loopy dragon eyeballs or something - of course about time I'd do that, it'd probably get clotted/infected and need to be removed.

I was wondering, J - and Owie! is all I can say to that. I actually had a (slightly) similar situation - I have a scar from a muscle biopsy on my right upper bicep - kinda thought it might be cool to turn it into a tat, or dress it up in one at least. I decided that I'd get one on my "something-th" birthday, and headed out to a place that came highly recommended. Went there several times - at the listed hours for the place - but the shop was never open. Since I had no real idea what I wanted, it fell by the wayside. Now you all have me thinking about it again...

I couldn't help but notice that this thread needs a little " fabulous." Full Chest: Upper Back: Lower Back Tramp Stamp: Full Stomach: I no longer have the navel ring. Left Shoulder: Right Arm: Front Side Rear This fall while I'm in Philly for an Eagles game I plan to add wind bars across my entire chest to finish off the area. The next project will be my right leg. The artwork will cover my entire right thigh and will most likely extend to just below my knee.

I don't have any true 'mostly complete' photos of my stuff handy... but I found a few. The centerpiece of the upper part of my left arm sleeve: The other side, in progress, along with the regrettable 13 year old armband: Shitty camera phone photo of right outer wrist 'Otto' and a portion of he forearm piece above it... in progress... Closer to finished left forearm... pay no attention to the baby: Left arm current status... kind of a shitty picture in terms of checking it out... the maple leaves blowing in the wind are red. Need to go and tie the upper arm down into the lower arm, through the other tattoo, and tighten up some of the dead space... Right arm and a kind of overview of the left... Right upper arm has some old stuff that is getting turned into a giant insect or something or other... my left shin is covered with kind of a piece of armor sort of deal that I put on there by myself with a homemade gun when I was 18... turned out okay, surprisingly. Got a black flag tattoo on my chest... Here's my wife's latest:

I am actually envious of those who aren't forced to be so concerned with concealability. Over the years I have made it a point to ensure that all of my tattoos can be concealable when necessary, but I sometimes long to have the ability to sleeve my arms or to have something go partially up my neck. Some might say that I've "sold out" to corporate America, or that tattoos are more widely accepted today than a few years ago and so my concerns may be unfounded, but I greatly value my current position and have lofty goals as to where I see myself in 5, 10, and even 15 years from now. While tattoos are certainly more widely accepted, and they may not completely sabotage my ability to reach some of my professional goals, there will always be coworkers, subordinates, or clients who aren't as understanding of my lifestyle. Many around my office have caught glimpses of a few of my tattoos, but none fully realize the extents of my artwork, and while my tattoos may not currently undermine my authority, I still have to maintain a professional mindset and appearance and lead by example. Unfortunately defaulting to long-sleeved shirts isn't much of an option during the summer months, especially since I can't remember the last time I didn't roll up my sleeves, and while I plan to sleeve my legs as a reasonable compromise, I sometimes appreciate the "mystery factor" of having some of my artwork "peak" from beneath my shirt. Many are far more intrigued by what they can't see than by what they can. I am currently getting the "itch" again and should have some new work by the fall (or sooner if my self control craps out). I was hoping you'd show up Pete. Based on that amazing collection of ink, I don't think ANYTHING will "show up" Pete Truly breathtaking Thanks. I appreciate the compliments.

Bump since I got my first tattoo today on my right arm. I'm going back in a few weeks to have the light red and blue darkened a bit. It was a great experience all around and I really liked the place I went to.

Seriously. Jen, my Jen that is, and I have been married almost 20 years and there's no way either of us would get the others name tattooed on us. After I die, cuz I'm a pretty certain bet to go first, she'll put my name on her but not before then.
