The Royal Wedding...Why?

I have zero interest in the royals or the wedding.  However, since I was born literally during the Chuck & Di wedding, I sort of feel obligated to watch this one.  How early do I have to get up?

my infant school re-enacted the Charles and Diana wedding in the same week....i was Charles,and that's about as much as i (want to)remember of that year


as for Fridays upcoming wedding,as i just told Myto in an email,i care not about the actual wedding,but the celebrations and the many Union flags that actually get put up i do like,as usually we don't show we are British or come together as Britons as much as we should,which i think is great,but people want to focus on 'how much this is costing us',which is a shame



with the wedding taking place on Friday it was named as a public holiday here in the UK,which pleased a lot of people,with it being Good Friday last week,Bank holiday Monday yesterday,people only had to book off Tuesday(today)Wednesday and Thursday from work to have 11 days off,as we have another Bank Holiday Monday this coming Monday

and to note the weather has been very sunny(until today,LOL)

there is a question of security and in today's day and age this is no small matter,there are already some groups who wanted to protest through London on the same day have been told no,and they have 'refused' their refusal,and Scotland Yard saying if you do protest,you will get nicked...hopefully nothing will go wrong,Terrorist etc

I am not really interested but it was refreshing to see the news this morning being about something happy rather than death, war, etc.  It is all about a happy celebration.  Seriously when was the last time we had this much media attention on a happy event?  It feels good to celebrate rather than be sad, or mad.

just saw a TV report where they have people from all over the world camping out on the pavements so they can get the best view,they talked to a Canadian woman who said if it gets cold,then she is used to Canadian winters so she should be fine and also an American who said that he turned down 9k for the place he had got

they have all got expensive hotels booked but have no intention of sleeping in the rooms,they have them booked so they can go to the toilet while supposedly someone is saving their place
