Its been 20 years...20 years!! Holy shit!...since TPB was released. A great great movie and a cult classic at the least.

Heres a photo gallery of the actors then and now.

I just wish they would put a Princess Bride reference into Criminal Minds sometime.. you know go into a house to talk with a witness and they would be watching the movie...

Wow.  They certainly all look 20 years older!! Sigh.  Kind of depressing actually.  I suppose I look a lot different from my then seven years old age though smile

It looks like they mined some of the worst pictures they could find for that comparison.

Robin Wright is still a very attractive woman- but not there.

Wallace Shawn does not look that scary now.

And that's probably the worst picture Cary Elwes has ever taken.

But to topic: I've never shown that movie to anyone who ended up not liking it. It's one of those movies that transcends everything and is enjoyed by all.

The original book is quite funny too, but it's actually not as funny as the movie (as I think the author did some things in the movie he wish'd he'd done in the book).

BRAVO!

BTW, I wish they had mentioned Wallace Shawn's genius work on ST: DS9 in the article about his current life. Grand Nagus Zek was one of the best ST characters in a long time. Shawn was brilliant.

You, obviously, are an idiot of the highest order...and a commie.

If insulting someone directly is a violation of the CoC then the CoC needs to be re-written with the caveat that it does not apply to insults directed toward those who do not like TPB!

Actually, I thought it blew chunks also.  One of the biggest wastes of time in my life.

It was so bad I would have loved to see Fezzik chokeslam Buttercup.   It was so bad that when my daughter wanted to watch it with me on DVD a couple of months ago, I wouldn't sit through it again.   There are some things you don't even do for your children.

My wife hates it.  While I wouldn't go that far, I don't quite see the appeal either - it has it's moments, but I don't consider it the classic that many apparently do.

There was a redo of the book released after the movie which among other things includes updates involving the cast and such.  The author incorporated some of the movie changes into the book and it was quite an enjoyable read.
