Just watched Last of the Mohicans, its been a few years since I watched it last. Fantastic movie all around, but the the final 15 minutes of the film is the best I've ever seen.
Very much agree . Awesome movie

This immediately went on my watch list when it popped on there. I've been wanting to see this series since it first came out. Just have to finish grinding through RedDwarf on Amazon Instant.

Uwe Boll's rather horrific "teen in body armor w/ automatic weapons annihilates an Oregon town's populace and police" direct-to-DVD 2009 flick Rampage seems to be getting more play on Netflix for obvious/morbid reasons. Although some online reviewers claim it's one of his "less terrible" movies, I ultimately couldn't stomach even starting to watch it. Too Soon. TMI chose instead to check out a strange horror film (I think it was DVD direct; part of the 2006-2007 "Masters of Horror" series) called "Sounds Like": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sounds_LikeQuality control supervisor Larry Pearce (Chris Bauer) spends his days monitoring the nuances of his tech support staff's telephone conversations. Listening is his life.
However, after his young son's death, he experiences a supernaturally heightened sense of hearing, Larry is forced to take violent action to silence the horrific cacophony in his head. He comes home to find that everything, including the small appliances, creates insufferable noise. I really found it quite refreshing, except that the lead guy is such an obnoxious jerk, it's tough to build up any empathy towards him. It eventually resorts to some more stereotypical stuff (maggots! sharp objects!) as if it lost its nerve. If you do a search (I use Roku) for "Masters" it'll pull up all that Masters of Horror stuff. Some I've liked, and some are just plain terrible imho. It wasn't the most consistant series of releases I ever saw.

Yeah I watched two of those "Masters" episodes and didn't care for them.
Finished up Top Shot: Season 1. Overall it was good but it seemed like in the end of it they got informed they don't have the budget to continue and have to wrap it up in 2 episodes. So they went from like 8 people to the winner in two episodes. It was still pretty good and the ending competition was so close.
Will likely watch season 2.
In the "I can't believe I watched it" category I watched the 1981 sci-fi horror b-movie "Galaxy of Terror". It's campy, has all the typical horror tropes, bad acting, along with the 80's synth music. It met all my expectations and surpassed some of it. It actually looked like it had somewhat of a budget to it. But the real surprise with the number of "stars" in the film. You had:
Robert Englund (Freddy Kruger) Erin Moran (Joanie from Happy Days) Ray Walston (My Favorite Martian/Fast Times at Ridgemount High) Zalman King (Red Shoe Diaries) Sid Haig (Devil's Rejects)
But the film was completely terrible. And misnamed "Galaxy of terror" as the whole thing took place on a single planet in enclosed locations.
Next sci-fi B-movie up for me is "StarCrash" from 1978 with the wonderful David Hasslehoff and Christopher Plummer.

I absolutely love "bad" movies and you are about to watch my all time favorite. StarCrash is a train wreck from beginning to end with one of the most laughably bad climactic battles to ever hit the screen. Just wait until you get to the "Torpedo" attack on the bad guys battleship. Said bad guy being named Zarth Arn and looking like Ron Jeremy in a cape just makes it even more delicious. Galaxy of Terror is another one that I will rewatch every couple of years. Roger Corman has supplied me with tons of "so bad it's awesome" movies.

The Masters of Horror series is VERY hit and miss...although mostly miss. I will say the following two were actually pretty good: Fair Haired Child Imprint (not sure I'd say "good" but it's Miike so it's unlike anything you've ever seen at the very least. If I'm not mistaken, Showtime refused to even air it.)

Finally got around to the first OSS 117 film (well, the first parody). Really fantastically, cleverly funny.
You do have to deal with some subtitles, CeeKay, but for those of you who can read, it's worth it.
It's the team who did The Artist (the two leads and the director), and it'skind of like Top Secret! Mixed with The Pink Panther and 60s James Bond. The music and style are great, too, and made me want to play No One Lives Forever again.
Anyway, I can't wait to watch the second one!

I watched The Hunter with Willem Dafoe this weekend and thought he was really good in it.
They also just added God Bless America, which is sort of like Falling Down filtered through the brain of Bobcat Goldthwait.

Would he not make the perfect Inspector Clouseau if they were to make an attempt to reboot the franchise? p.s. while still funny, i was a little disappointed in the second one. but only because the first was so damn funny.

Yes, except he has a sex appeal that Clouseau never had. His weak English might be an issue, too (though it could be an asset). Either way, he'd be better than Steve Martin (much as I love Steve, he's made some awful choices).

While I admit that Donnie Darko seems like it's trying to be too clever, I still enjoyed it. At its heart, it's a sci fi/fantasy. If you google the story, there are some things that will make you slap your head and go, "Ah, so THAT'S what that meant!".
