So where did the war on terrorism(WoT) go? Did all the terrorist trade thier bombs for food? After 9/11 I expected SO much more to come out of this so called WoT. Yet for years now it seems the soldiers in the WoT have been AWOL.

Iraq then springs up. I support our people there and our allies. I dont agree with them being there though. Its not that I hate war..its needed sometimes. I dont see Iraq needing it this last time. Our guys die but its not Iraqis usually. Its people from outside the country coming in to take a shot at the un mobil US Soldiers stationed there. All terrorists and idiots know they're there and can have thier chance. Its depressing.

I did'nt vote for Bush. Wife did and wanted me to. Even though I did'nt, I did try to give him a chance. Right after 9/11 when he said he was going after terror I was all " ALRIGHT KICK THIER ASS!"  and that seemed to be what we did. Then a year or so later was it? we go back to Iraq.

I said from the start it was because he was a Bush and wanted to finish what his dad started. I did'nt see..and still dont see...any connection to terror in Iraq. Its been bullshit after bullshit.

What happened to Afghanistan???? Whats happening there? They still speculate that Bin Laden is in that region. Why is most of our forces still in Iraq? Its all crazy. And besides that what else has been done against Bin Laden and terror? The color coded threat alert? Wow big props for that stinker.

Its just major bullshit and after all these years of it I can no longer breath in the smell.

The war on terrorism (WoT) is under the bleachers smoking pot with the war on drugs (WoD).  Later on they are planning on going to Dave Matthews Band (DMB) concert with the weapon of mass distruction (WMD).

Since there has not been another terrorist attack here in the US since 9/11, i'd have to say the US is winning its war on terror.

What's so smelly about that?

Wow, and there hasn't been a hurricane attack since last year either.

You libr00lz need to stop bitching.  GWB is winning both the War on Terrorism AND the War on Inclement Weather!

And since there hasn't been a complete stock market meltdown while Bush was in charge, the man is also an economic genius!

PS. And all Clinton's success was due to things Reagan did over eight years earlier.
PPS. Clinton got a blowjob.

Can't even debate it without getting all snarky and shit, ehh unbreakable?

The fact is, the "bad guys" are obviously too busy across the ocean to do further attacks on the US.........because of Bush's war decisions.

We're taking the fight to them, instead of the other way around. And with our military: trained and volunteeer as it is.

Show me something other than 2yr-old shit, unbreakable...if you can.

Boohoohoo.  Does it hurt having your boy's failures thrown in your face?  Good, because it should.

Please, name for me ONE SINGLE THING Bush has done which has been positive for this country.

Let me guess, you are still calling yourself a 'Fiscal Conservative', right?  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Worst president EVER.
This is not even in doubt.

BTW, name an Iraqi who were involved in 9/11.
Name an Iranian who was involved in 9/11.

Interesting, how you can somehow claim Bush is 'bringing the fight to them'.

I would at least like to have the feeling that the president does.  But I havent for six years.

Just remember, being president is 'hard werk'.

I clearly remember hearing Bush announce "If you're not with us against terrorism, then you're against us"

I recall Athens telling the same thing to Syracuse.  And look at how well that turned out.

BTW, you have to provide more proof than your say-so that they were supporting terrorism.

Some people don't care about being sheep.  So I guess it all depends on your point of view.

But it probably isn't apropos for you to tell the shepherd that his concerns are unimportant.  Best you just keep grazing.

So, unanswered questions thus far:

1. Please, name for me ONE SINGLE THING Bush has done which has been positive for this country.

2. name an Iraqi who were involved in 9/11.  (good luck)

3. Name an Iranian who was involved in 9/11. (good luck)

4. provide some sort of proof that Iraq and Iran were supporting terrorism.

[edit] Here, I'll even try to help you out.

List of the hijackers
Note: There have been variations in the spelling of the names of the alleged hijackers in differing accounts of the attacks. This is because there is no one correct way of transliterating from the Arabic alphabet to the Latin alphabet.
The hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 11 were reported to be:

Waleed al-Shehri (Saudi Arabian)
Wail al-Shehri (Saudi Arabian)
Mohammed Atta (Egyptian)
Abdulaziz al-Omari (Saudi Arabian)
Satam al-Suqami (Saudi Arabian)
Mohammed Atta is believed to have flown Flight 11 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Aboard United Airlines Flight 175 the hijackers were reported to be:

Marwan al-Shehhi (Emirati)
Fayez Banihammad (Emirati)
Mohand al-Shehri (Saudi Arabian)
Hamza al-Ghamdi (Saudi Arabian)
Ahmed al-Ghamdi (Saudi Arabian)
Marwan al-Shehhi is believed to have flown Flight 175 into the South Tower.
The hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 77 were reported to be:

Khalid al-Mihdhar (Saudi Arabian)
Majed Moqed (Saudi Arabian)
Nawaf al-Hazmi (Saudi Arabian)
Salem al-Hazmi (Saudi Arabian)
Hani Hanjour (Saudi Arabian)
Hani Hanjour is believed to have flown Flight 77 into the Pentagon.
The hijackers aboard United Airlines Flight 93 were reported to be:

Ahmed al-Haznawi (Saudi Arabian)
Ahmed al-Nami (Saudi Arabian)
Ziad Jarrah (Lebanese)
Saeed al-Ghamdi (Saudi Arabian)
Ziad Jarrah is believed to have crashed Flight 93 into the Pennsylvania countryside to prevent or end an assault by the passengers.
Ahmed al-Ghamdi, Saeed al-Ghamdi, Hamza al-Ghamdi, and Ahmad al-Haznawi came from three neighboring towns and belonged to the same tribe. Wail and Waleed al-Shehri were brothers. Salem al-Hazmi was a younger brother of Nawaf al-Hazmi.

1.  So, since you are shortsighted, that means everything is good with the world?  You probably shouldn't even be IN this conversation, since you really have nothing to add except a lack of facts and irrelevant baseless opinion (the way I see it, anyway).

I'm not saying you are a bad guy, but it's pretty silly for someone who doesn't play chess to debate chess strategies.

2.  yes, you said they were terrorists.
Quote

As for why Saddam had a plane in his country, who cares?  It was his country, not ours.  Since you guys have zero evidence that he did anything against America, this is irrelevant.

3. Again, yes, you said they were terrorists.  See above quote.

Obviously, "taking the fight to them" means you believe Iraq (and you seem to imply Iran as well) had terrorist attacks planned against America.

So, please show some report of these plans.  Please so some kind of historical precident for America being attacked by either of these two nations (when we were not inside their countries, that is).

Quote
4. Provide some proof that Iraq and Iran don't support terrorism.

You are asking me to prove a negative.  Sorry, but the world just doesn't work that way.  I cannot prove that there is no magical Easter Bunny.

But, since you are claiming there IS some kind of terrorism sponsored by these nations, it should be quite easy for you to prove it.

Typical Republifundamentalist.  Always declaring your victory far too early.

No wonder you guys have zero successes to point to.

[edit] BTW, you might try taking a crack at answering my questions, rather than patting yourself on the back over your 'victory'.

[edit2] it must really hurt your pride, to have gotten embarrassed in front of all your friends on the 9/11 hijacker thing, huh?

Interesting, how you claim I 'change' things 'after the fact'.  In fact, each edit was just adding stuff on to the end (someone whined about doubleposting, which I can't see that it matters since I don't get paid by the post... oh well).

So, anyway, when you lie about someone, try making sure the facts are on your side.  Especially when they are so easy to check.

I attibute the edits to a limitation of the medium.  Forums aren't an instant messenger service.  When I look stuff up, it sometimes takes a few minutes (which would would know, had you actually, you know, backed up anything you said with fact).

Exactly.  And when 90% of the posts in this thread are two people arguing and calling each other names like 3rd graders then that's where this discussion should go - PM, email or IM.  Or you two could meet up in real life, drop your pants and see how you each measure up.  We won't think badly of you.  Really.

Keep the discussion on the issues or we'll have to lock the thread.

Rather than making personal attacks on everyone who comes near you, why not answer a few simple questions?

1. Please, name for me ONE SINGLE THING Bush has done which has been positive for this country.

2. provide some sort of proof that Iraq and Iran were supporting terrorism.

Think carefully about the bar you're setting, Zekester.  Can you provide some proof that *you* don't support terrorism?  How exactly would you go about proving a negative?

The only thing I need to think about is how i'm surrounded by obvious anti-war anti-Bush people, and therefore haven't a chance at arguing my points.

Which, of course, is fine...I can accept that other people have opinions.

Even though breakable took a couple all-out swings at me, and I responded by rolling with them and responding with a couple jabs back myself, I think him and I stayed on the subject fairly well.

were we dick-swinging? Perhaps. Although I would disagree. But even so, since when is Dick-swinging against any rules here?

Ron runs this ship. Let him tell me that I was out of line in this thread, and i'll accept it and move on to another forum.

In the meantime, considering breakable and I were apparently the only ones online last night, it was rather enjoyable.
