Just wondering if you ordered a white 64GB, which is what I ordered.

Yep that's exactly what i ordered as well. So perhaps it's that AT&T has shortage on that configuration?

Status still says backordered. Called AT&T again and they say that they have no view into stock / warehouse / etc. So basically they'll know when it ships when the warehouse updates it.  Pretty sad commentary on their I.T. department if that's true.

Apparently the geofence reminders will work on the iPhone 4 as well, but not the 3GS.

icon_lol As a former Cingular rep, that place is so stovepiped as to be ridiculous.  IT has nothing to do with it.  And honestly, if you were running a warehouse, would you want the CS portion of your business having the ability to call down and harass the warehouse staff about Joe Blow's order status?

AT&T would rather not bother setting your expectations than set them and miss them.  For example, there was always an ETA for resolution on outages, etc.  It was never filled out.  We would get updates as things progressed, but even internally, they would never tell us when to expect resolution.

Many (I assume not all) were having serious problems getting the iOS5 update to work, w/ stuff getting wiped or bricked:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/iphone-ios-5-upgrades-serious-headaches/2011/10/13/gIQAKPcNhL_story.html

I think I'll refrain from updating for a while (I do have it downloaded, but it was about the slowest download I've ever seen on my cable connection).

I've only had this kind of updating failure once before (which wiped my Touch), after which I swore I'd remember to always let iTunes do a backup of my device's stuff before it tries to update the Touch's OS.

damn, the weather widget pushing notifications to the notification center eats up battery life like crazy.  turned it on this morning and lost 10% battery life in about an hour without doing anything else other than looking at different settings.  turned it off and my battery ended the day at 67%.

Best Buy just called...they didn't get their shipment of white 64gig units.  I am, however, first on the list, and they said they'd call as soon as it came in to set up an appointment.

I did back up using itunes, but I am not certain if the back up is iO5... I don't want to do a restore...   I should have held off since I will be upgrading soon..   Should have listen to my inner voice.

What is geo-fence?

Available only on the 4 and 4S, it lets you tie GPS zones to your reminders.  So instead of just "remind me on Friday" you can say "remind me when I leave work or when I arrive at the mall."  When you leave or enter those geographical areas, the reminder gets triggered.

I saw people buying 64gb white.  Actually, the dude next in line to me brought two.  One for him and his spouse.

Btw, I just called Gamestop and they will give me 110.00 for my 16gb 3Gs.  I don't know if this is store credit or actual dollars

The case I received is not the one I ordered online...

Edit: Not only did I receive the wrong case, but it was the exact case that I actively didn't want. My step-brother has this case for his iPhone 4, and I hate it. So I called AT&T and they are going to overnight me the correct package. I was surprised at how quickly and easily they were able to help me.

AT&T fucked it up.

Wife's phone ordered through Apple on 10/7...At my house at 10:30 this morning.

My phone ordered at AT&T store on 10/7...Not even shipped and no clue when it will.

Gonna go cancel and grab one at the store (which I hear they are actually easy to get this year).

Lesson learned.

No dice for me. You have any luck?

Nobody knows where my phone is, they can't cancel the order and won't let me just get one at the store.

I did get them to release me from my contract though. Not that I'd leave (other than this everything has been good), but it's something.
