oh...guess i will have to let you off then Roll Eyes

as for the size of the Dragon you said before, this is the front cover of my Hobbit book

The Dragon there is minute(and no fucking threat, you could stand on the bastard!!)..but saying that this cover was illustrated by David Wyatt who has done a few JRR Tolkien books, but the usual guys are John Howe and Alan Lee who were both chief conceptual designers for the LOTR and consultations for The Hobbit movies, and considered by many to be the official artists/illustrators

they both featured in the movie right at the start as The Kings of Men

and then Lee shows up again far left in The Two Towers

so ends that little lesson,I'll do a quiz at the end of the lesson
I learnt all this from the DVD sets,I have still not watched my Blu Rays yet with all those extras again..not got a spare 600 hrs

The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey extended cut details
Den of Geek

Quote
The Hobbit being one book stretched out to fill three films there may be questions as to what material will be found in an extended cut. Fortunately Peter Jackson has decided to shine some light on that very subject: "You are going to get some serious Dwarvish disrespect of the elves at Rivendell", he's revealed to Empire.

Producer and co-writer Philippa Boyens added that "you are going to get more of Hobbiton". Er, exactly what the film needs, some might suggest with a not very serious face on. She continued, saying that "we always wanted to wend our way through Hobbiton, but in the end Bilbo has to run out of the door" (after the washing up was done, of course).

Fran Walsh added that "you are going to get more Goblin Town, and the Great Goblin singing his song. It is a great song, but it was just another delay in terms of moving the story along".

Peter Jackson concluded the details with the following: "We are putting things in the extended cut that are going to play straight into the second film, like this character Girion, who is defending Dale using black arrows against Smaug ... There are also issues with Thrandull. We get some of the reasons why he and the dwarves had a falling out – to do with these white gems..."

The extended cut of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is due for release in November in preparation for the release of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug hitting cinemas in December.

A day after saying goodbye to Gandalf and Tauriel, it was time to farewell Legolas. What a great day it was, with Orlando battling a serious Orc for all 12 hours of shooting -
Spoiler for Hiden:
part of the Battle of the 5 Armies for the third Hobbit movie.

When we finally got the day done, we said goodbye to Orlando, had a couple of beers ... and couldn't resist doing this!

The spoiler worries me a bit,i did not know Legolas was involved in that part of the book

That concerns you?  That is actually one of the few things that was actually in the book (Mirkwood elves in the battle of the five armies... not Legolas specifically, but... he could've been!).

I'm 2/3 through it as I had a credit on amazon.

I will never doubt Jackson again. So far, it's a masterpiece. Every bit as good as the original trilogy.  It threshes out the universe so wonderfully (I'm not sure how much is embellishment and how much is drawn from Tolkein's work) and I have loved every moment of it.

AWESOME!

The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition Officially Announced
Den of Geek

Quote
longer version of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey's coming out on disc in the US, with a Shire-load of additional features...

As Peter Jackson wraps the filming of the third film in The Hobbit trilogy, Warner has announced that an extended version of the first film, An Unexpected Journey, is coming to Blu-Ray.

This longer cut will contain an extra 12 minutes of unseen footage, and fans will be able to choose from a 3-disc Blu-Ray or 5-disc DVD, or the more expensive 5-disc 3D Blu-ray set. Of the release, Peter Jackson has said:

Quote
“I’m thrilled that the Extended Edition will give fans the opportunity to experience certain key scenes in the film as they were originally shot, as well as an abundance of special features. It’s exciting to present this expanded and enriched version of An Unexpected Journey to allow fans to fully immerse themselves in the movie, before seeing the second part of the trilogy.”

In addition, the discs will also contain "nearly nine hours of new bonus features," which will consist of a commentary track, documentaries and other Tolkien snippets:

Quote
"The Appendices – A multi-part chronological history of the filming of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, covering pre-production in the various departments of the film in the months leading up to the start of principal photography, the boot camp training for the main cast, the work done on set chronologically through the three shooting blocks and in the world of its digital effects."
Given that the extended versions of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy offered so much additional treasure for fans, there's no reason to assume these Hobbit special editions won't do likewise.

At the moment, the only officially announced release dates are October 22nd for the downloadable version, with the traditional boxed edition available on the 5th November. It's thought that the sets will be available in the UK around the same time, but we'll bring you an update on this when it comes in.

only 12 minutes?  no surprising it's that little considering how long he padded out the film to begin with.

Looks like the film will be split over 2 BR discs again,as the 3D version has 5 discs and includes the normal BR versions well...so that means 1 disc for all the special features

I honestly can't remember a Wormtongue type character in The Hobbit if that is what we are seeing over to the right of that second picture(not Stephen Fry)
