I was thinking the same thing. Even when I go so far as to purchase a series on DVD to watch at my leisure, I never seem to find that time of leisure to actually watch the series I purchased.
Most of us don't moonlight as a superhero known as "Fashionman".... I thought it was Mister Fabulous. Mister Fabulous was ditched after a tragic color scheme accident involving the half cape and boots. plus, it was after labor day and the inclusion of a white logo was a big no no. pete felt it was best to ditch the whole persona and start fresh with a hero metrosexuals could rally around.

the DVR is your friend. I rarely catch a show when it actually airs anymore and I end up watching them as I make and sit down for dinner when I get home.
+1. I usually catch up late at night or on the weekend.

I still have Season 1.5 of Jericho on my DVR. I don't know when/if I'm going to get to it or just delete it for space.

yes, well my wife has wedding shows from before our wedding (May 2007) that she refuses to delete. She claims she needs them for when she starts her second career as a wedding planner. Luckily we have 4 tivos, but it tests my patience.

I watched The Fringe pilot a few months ago when it was leaked on the internet. Awful. I also watched the True Blood pilot which was leaked. Although it obviously wasn't finished (had missing scenes), it was very intriguing.. and it's Allan Ball. I have never traditionally been a TV watcher, but with the recent purchase of my new 42inch LCD, and the acquisition of HDTV... I have a few on my list. True Blood How I Met Your Mother Dexter Entourage 90210 (Was addicted to the first one, love me some teenage drama) Gossip Girl (See above) I was hoping for another comedy.. but I'll wait and see. Edit... I just watched the pilot of 90210. Where did Jenny Garth get that rack? I think she's had some work.

I admit, I watched 90210 because I was curious and thought it was total crap. Even considering the original 90210, I don't think it fell within the same standards. Way too much drama for a first episode and too much superficialism. If someone plagiarizes you, I would think you'd be angry with the person for at least the entire season, if not the entire series, and not have everything be hunky dory by the end of the episode and be friends again with that person. My Brother went through an ordeal awhile back that very nearly kicked him out of university due to something a team project member had plagiarized. Friends with the jerk who did it? Hell no. And the plane trip to San Franscisco dinner date? Please. That just doesn't happen in the real world. One that revolves around high school kids anyhow.
Ironically, the actress that landed the main role, Shanea Grimes came over from Degrassi: TNG, and I think that's a much better series. I almost feel bad for her that she had to leave the success of that show for this, although it should open more doors for her.

The new shows on the list are, of course, provisional. I await Rules of Engagement being added back into the schedule once something dies on CBS. Also, if you aren't watching Life on NBC, please give it a look. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would like it to stick around. Life on Mars I don't give good odds on making a safe landing with myself or anyone else. Knight Rider is on an extreme provisional basis and may not last past week three of my viewing schedule, if that far. I hold out hopes that My Own Worst Enemy is good and makes it, but I wouldn't put money on it. Oh, and for the record, I have the sheets I prepared for the last two seasons as well.

Watched it... and impressions are definitely mixed. I'm a big fan of Vampire stuff, and was a big fan of 6FU so you'd think it would be a no-brainer. But... I'm not sold on the show. It seemed a bit sporadic in introducing characters, plotlines and it's Vampire concepts. Anna Paquin as the lead - I like her a lot but not sure she's really good enough to carry a show on her own. The lead vampire also was not nearly as hot/sexy as I'd like him to be. A lot of the side characters seemed fun, but they also seemed to just pop in and drop funny one-liners, then move back to the background. Maybe it's just a case of trying to introduce too much in a single hour premiere, I don't know. Anyway, I'll keep watching it at least a few more episodes to see if it impresses me.

Well, if you at all care (and after watching it, you won't be ever again), the first 'episode' (and I'm coining that term loosely here folks), is up to watch. Words do not describe how bad of a B-Movie type show this is. It's campy, shitty, and a complete insult to the original series. Thankfully I was multitasking at the time, so my 45 minutes wasn't completely a waste.

I watched part of an episode yesterday on Tivo (Revenge of the Sithee)... Pros: Has Mel Brooks Cons: Has crude boob inflation and explosion jokes with lame 70s punchlines; Sadly, it's not for me. OK, True Blood and Sons of Anarchy are pretty good. Haven't seen Sons of Anarchy yet, but after watching last weeks' True Blood yesterday, I'm officially hooked. I hate the 'end of episode cliffhanger' plan they have going, and I hate Sookie's brother - what a toolshed; why does every girl on that show want to sleep with him? - but I really feel like it's building, in the same way that Heroes season 1 was building. The first episode was interesting, the second also, but the previews for tonight have me pretty excited.

I'm probably going to give it another shot, just on the off chance that I caught an off episode... I think I turned it off at the first commercial break. Crybaby Skywalker was working at a lingerie shop in a mall, but was sold as a slave to outlet mall. Which turned out to be outlet maul, as in darth maul. I explained that about as good as one could hope. It was deleted and Ghost Hunters was watched instead.

I love Mel Brooks circa '60s to early '80s. However, I watch Blazing Saddles and marvel at how funny and edgy it is, then I watch something like Robin Hood: Men in Tights and wonder what the hell happened? Is it a studio thing? Did they put restrictions on Brooks based on a misplaced sense of political correctness? Is it Brooks himself?

First of all... I'm still rofl'ing about the Pete Fabulosity Superhero. Good one, Hep! I've already screwed up the new season launch - we missed House's season opener! We have all kinds of nieces and nephews though who know all about that modern stuff, like Bittorent (which I've never known what that was, lol - is it legal or kind of a soft pirating?) Mantra for today - I will not forget to record Heroes, I will not forget to record Heroes... um, you get it, on and on - and tomorrow I'll be whining about goofing it, lmao. I know we will watch Worst Week, because in the previews there was a German Shepherd Dog, yay! If that's all it has going for it, we'll still watch it, if the GSD is in it a lot. My fears of me turning into a crazy cat lady are allayed; I now know that I will likely end up a crazy dog lady... Lessee, what else? Tops not to miss: Criminal Minds, original CSI (can't stand the Miami one - I saw enough over-acting on the original Star Treck, I don't need it in a CSI. Also no CSI NY anymore, they are trying way too hard to be the grossest of the "autopsy" shows, I say enough already!), and Without a Trace. I probably left a few out, but that's already too much. I like to play video games too... And CeeKay, c'mon, man - get with the modern age: so gentleman, folks, people, gentle readers, fire up the DVR's You do know there are THREE of us now, don't you? S'okay, I fixed it for ya anyway, lmao!

Worst Week lasted 20 minutes. And that was giving it 5 minutes past my initial though to kill it. After laughing heartily for 60 minutes over the past three shows (I love the DVR!), I did not get one chuckle or grin out of this show. If it lasts until November, I will be surprised.

I love Supernatural. It's just come together as a decent successor to Night Stalker, IMHO. The interaction between the Winchester brothers, the use of classic rock, the underlying story arc that doesn't stray too far from the essentials established in the first season...the writers and producers have done a great job of keeping it on track.

Is Fox the only network that will give Whedon a shot ( I thought he swore off of Fox after the last couple of debacles)? At this point seems he would be better off with USA or some other cable network. Better yet get a gig with HBO or Showtime and let lose with nudity and colorful language.

...and thus D.B. Sweeney began his curse... Sci-fi shows cancelled in Fox’s Friday Death Slot:
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. (1993) MANTIS (1994) Strange Luck (1995) VR.5 (1995) Sliders (1996) - real big failure, lasted 5 seasons, three of them on Fox. Millennium (1996) - lasted 3 seasons. The Visitor (1997) Harsh Realm (1999) Freakylinks (2000) Dark Angel (2000) - 2 seasons The Lone Gunmen (2001) John Doe (2003) Firefly (2003) And some of those shows deserved to die. Notes are mine.

Is Fox the only network that will give Whedon a shot ( I thought he swore off of Fox after the last couple of debacles)? At this point seems he would be better off with USA or some other cable network. Better yet get a gig with HBO or Showtime and let lose with nudity and colorful language.
I think Elisha Dushku has a contract with Fox and he wanted to do the show with her, which meant doing the show for Fox.

NBC has picked up the pilot of Top Gear USA as a mid season replacement. Probably airing in January. Although the producers say they will allow critical reviews of the cars on the show, I just don't think it will work on commercial TV where they blast a car then see a commercial with the same car immediately after. I am also sceptical of Adam Carolla, Tanner Foust, and Eric Strommer can provide enough entertaining banter and antics to keep it interesting.
