dang, it kinda snuck up on me. I didn't even realize it until I checked my DVR last night and saw new episodes of Prison Break. The Shield started last night, and tonight on FX The Sons of Anarchy starts, which apparently stars Ron Pearlman. Fringe starts soon, and it's getting good word of mouth, and apparently Chucks beginning episodes are good enough they've gone ahead and ordered 22 instead of the 13 they were planning on airing. Heroes, well, hopefully it'll be an improvement over season 2, which felt fairly slow to me. No Reaper until mid-season though Of course there are the other new shows- I predict Knight Rider dying a quick death unless they've massively re-tooled it from the movie, and other than Fringe none of them have stood out enough for me to pay attention. so gentleman, fire up the DVR's- with no writers strike and the actors strike looking like it's been averted we'll have a proper TV season again!

Man, The Unit got hosed. That is a horrible slot to end up with. Even in this day and age of DVRs, a bad time slot can kill a show.

it might not be that bad. Last seasons time slot was competing with 2 other shows I liked more, so I didn't catch any of season 3, but with this new time slot I may decide to forgive CBS for Jericho and catch up on it.

I don't know if I am just getting more picky about what I watch or there just isn't that much interesting stuff coming up. I went through the whole list of new shows and very little got me excited. I will check out a few, but I suppose it bodes well for my gaming schedule.

Didn't Scrubs move to a new network (ABC?)? Anyone know when it will start? I'm really going to miss The Office and Scrubs on Thursday nights.

All I care about is... ... I AM READY FOR SOME FOOTBAAAAAAAAAAAALL!For me that is the pinnacle of fall television (and winter for that matter). Outside of that I don't watch much TV. Well, except for Dancing with the Stars, which starts on September 22. Go Rocco DiSpirito!

What I'm watching this fall (Because I know you care): Monday: Chuck / Heroes / How I met your mother / Top Gear on BBC America Tuesday: Nada. Everything there looks like crap. At least Eureka is still going. Wednesday: Nada. Or Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi. Thursday: The office; Will check out 'Life on Mars' but I don't have much hope; I might have watched Kitchen Nightmares, but I cannot stand the "Foxification" of it. Friday: Might check out "Crusoe". Probably won't. Sat: Nada Sun: Family Guy - but this has been going downhill in the past year or so. Pretty weak fall schedule overall for my tastes. I count 6 hours total.

I'm pretty excited since I'm such a TV whore! Premieres: Prison Break was a nice way to open the season. The show looks like it's going all over the place, maybe a more Ocean's 11 type of feel. As much as I'm enjoying it, I don't think it's going to last another year, we'll see. I watched half of 90210 last night, it was kinda meh. Mish mash between all the Fox, CW and WB soaps I've seen, most reminiscent of The O.C. if I had to pick one. Surprisingly competitive hour: for me anyway, Monday at 9: Heroes vs. Prison Break. But I really wanted to watch that new comedy Worst Week. I really love the guy they picked as the lead, he's the one from those T-Mobile(?) commercials who keeps leaving pathetic messages on his girlfriends' phones. Most looking forward to: Fringe! J. J. Abrams has a good track record, show sounds X-Files-ish, and I love Joshua Jackson so I have nothing to lose Midseason: Don't forget Joss Whedon's Dollhouse!!!! Other miscellany: Sanctuary on Sci-Fi, Crusoe on NBC, and some cheesy fantasy show I believe will be based on the Goodkind Sword of Truth series.

In for these:
Monday: Chuck / My Own Worst Enemy (will DVR and see if it's worth it) Tuesday: Fringe (DVR and check if worthy) Wednesday: Possibly Knight Rider. The movie was cheesy as hell, but it was kinda fun... Thursday: 30 Rock, The Office, Life on Mars (DVR) and Eleventh Hour (DVR) Friday: Life. I absolutely cannot wait for this show to come back. We loved every single episode last season. Sat: Nuthin Sun: Are you ready for some fooooootballllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll?????
That's about it really. Oh yeah, Reaper as a mid-season replacement. I really hope that show can pull some ratings to come back as a full season show.
I'll check out Scrubs when it comes back, as well as 24. Don't have high hopes for either, unfortunately.

I thought Terminator got cancelled. After 2 shows I basically couldn't watch it.
The first few episodes were about paying homage and trying to mesh with the movies. They weren't very successful at that, but by the end of the season they were internally consistent and the plots and characters improved a lot. I'm looking forward to its return. I'm happy to see Pushing Daisies back again. I thought that one was gone for good.

Well, it's nominated for 12 Emmys, so ABC will probably give the show the 'Arrested Development' chance.

I will check out a few, but I suppose it bodes well for my gaming schedule. Looking at this list I forgot about a few I wanted to check out. 1. Hole in the Wall - Love watching this stuff on youtube. Doubt it'll be good on ... fox ... but I hope anyways. 2. Fringe - Eh. I'll give it a shot. 3. True Blood - I don't have HBO... but I'm curious. Maybe DL an ep and see if it's worth subscribing to HBO for. 4. Spaceballs: The Animated Series - why the heck not. I mean, all the other crap on G4 is terrible (Hurl???), so I have pretty low expectations. 5. Sanctuary - Low expectations again, because it's on Sci-Fi, but they do have a history of surprisingly good shows (Eureka) 6. Testees - Hell yeah. That sounds awesome. This could be genius like "Always Sunny in Philadelphia". Or it could be that all the clever was dumped into the name.

I had high hopes that the creators had been mauled to death by a roving band of cougars after I struggled through 12 minutes of the pilot earlier this year.

Taking Colm Meaney out and putting Harvey Keitel in was the kiss of death, as far as I'm concerned. Meaney just looks like a Gene Hunt. Keitel, while a great actor, is really way too old and too short for the role.

I was so glad to see The Shield on again last night. I also watched 90210 since nothing else was on. Not as bad as I expected, but I don't see myself watching it weekly.
I'll start with:
Monday: HIMYM, Heroes. Maybe Terminator. Tuesday: Fringe Wednesday: Bones, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money Thursday: 30 Rock. Supernatural if I can get caught up with the DVDs. Maybe Kitchen Nightmares and Life on Mars. Friday: Looks like nothing Saturday: nothing Sunday: Simpsons and Family Guy

Wow! Stick me in the "I've got a full Monday night" bunch.
Monday: Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, Heroes; will give My Own Worst Enemy a chance Tuesday: Eureka ('till the current season ends), The Shield; will give Fringe a chance Wednesday:Pushing Daisies; if Sons of Anarchy is good tonight, it'll get a season pass Thursday: 30 Rock Friday: Psych ('till season's end, then nada) Saturday: nada Sunday: The Unit
You know, I'd feel bad about watching 10+ hours of TV a week if I didn't multitask during most of them.

Pushing Daisies actually did relatively well in the ratings. I don't believe it's renewal was ever in much doubt. However, due to the extended strike, ABC opted not to bring back their freshmen shows post-Strike (where even older series took a big hit in audience) and instead held them back to basically re-premier them this fall.

wow - you guys watch a lot of television I was thinking the same thing. Even when I go so far as to purchase a series on DVD to watch at my leisure, I never seem to find that time of leisure to actually watch the series I purchased. I have Prison Break Seasons 1 and 2, 24 Seasons 1 through 4, Firefly, The Shield Seasons 1 through 6, and I just can't seem to find the time to actually watch any of them. Last night I had to make special plans to be available for my live online fantasy football draft, and even after going in to work at 6am, skipping lunch, and working like mad throughout the day, I still barely made it home in time to log on. I envy the veteran TV watchers. Outside of the TV being on when I cook dinner, wash dishes, fold laundry, play with the dogs, or clean up around the house, rarely do I have the time to actually sit down to watch a show. And never with any level of regularity for a specific time slot. Usually by 8 or 9 I can finally crash on the couch, but by then I start dozing off, anyway.

There are several nights a week I don't get home until 8 or later depending on what I'm working on, but that's why I'm very thankful that a lot of shows are put online shortly after they have a new episode. That's how I watched a lot of the Pushing Daisies episodes, either some night when I had time or split up during compile times at work.

wow - you guys watch a lot of television I was thinking the same thing. Usually by 8 or 9 I can finally crash on the couch, but by then I start dozing off, anyway. the DVR is your friend. I rarely catch a show when it actually airs anymore and I end up watching them as I make and sit down for dinner when I get home.
