As for the music, he mentioned specifically when he stopped that he had been ripping them off. Not much you can do about fair use in that context. The songs weren't the targets of the parody, so I doubt he'd have a leg to stand on when the Aussie version of the RIAA came calling.
As for the ads, you can place the blame for that squarely on the site that he works for. I'd much rather the ads be on the back side of the video so I can kill it and go do something else than have to wait through them before I get to watch the video.
As with all things, there are always those where first = best. I'll take the new, different versions over not having it all.

Having played Eve...yeah, I can sorta agree with what he's saying. The game is absolutely IMMENSE, but you need a degree in rocket science to be able to grasp it all.
