well, it's supposedly set in 2018, or 11 years before the events portrayed in t1 and 2's future, supposedly before the t-800 human models, so maybe they haven't uncorked him yet. the wiki entry does mention the plot revolves around the t-101 (a early model of the endoskeleton terminator, i believe) so it's still possible though that he'll have a scene as a prototype or something. nevermind what the last film did the continuity. not sure how they are going to deal with that myself. btw, be careful what you read on the wiki site or elsewhere, it has what would have been a pretty cool revelation spoiled in the first paragraph of the wiki entry. btw, if you do want more details on the t-800 and arnie's involvement, the wiki is a good source. just don't berate me if you feel spoiled afterwards. nm on the 101. that's the model of the 800 with skin. great little fan vid to get excited about and pretty well put together.

Probably not 'canon' because there really isn't a single creative entity shepherding the franchise (I'm not even sure that the producers of Sarah Connor Chronicles are consulting with the makers of Terminator Salvation). But I know there is at least one Terminator book by Aaron Allston and he's a decent writer. Looks like there will be an official Terminator Salvation prequel novel though from Timothy Zahn coming out in March. Might have some potential since Zahn wrote the very awesome Thrawn Trilogy for Star Wars but his subsequent Star Wars output was so lackluster that I gave up on him.

Um yeah. Robocop would last about 4 seconds against a terminator. Hope that comic book was 3 panels long.

I think the last film served to continue the story, with the simple plot it contained. I think what's at issue with T3 is that it was such a piss poor movie it killed a lot of peoples' enthusiasm for the series continuation. I hope this next file is a better offering and can get it back on track.

there were at least two that i read from s.m. sterling which took place between 2 and 3 and in some ways, reminds me of the SCC, and seemingly influenced both it and t3. not bad reads either.
as for t3's continuity, it (and t2 to a lesser extent) changed the fundamental approach skynet took to combatants (t-1000, t-1001) and all of the little HK's instead of jets and hurking tanks.
the future in t1 and going into t2 put skynet's forces into an western style army with infantry, heavy armor and air superiority against human's guerrilla warfare and light vehicles.

The Marcus Wright character actually makes the movie more interesting. The people now controlling the franchise (including the TV series) have been handling the material pretty well and exploring how mixed up things are getting. I think it's clear that things have changed from the original judgement day.

I like the series and I think the end of T2 said it best, " The Future isn't set" The way I see it Judgement Day can't be stopped. Man is destined to create AI that will start Judgement Day no matter how much they try to stop it

Just to be clear, the TV show and Terminator Salvation have NOTHING to do with each other. They are on two different time lines.
Both the movies and the TV show go off the first two movies.
Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation are off on one line. Sarah Connor Chronicles branch off in an entirely different direction.

and the timelines of the different books are each a different timeline of their own.
i really like that they don't define one of the TL's as the proper one, thus discounting everything else. of course, a lot of that is the result of not having one person or group in charge of the IP ala george lucas.
now we just need someone to redefine alien 3 and 4 and the avp movies and remake aliens 3 as the dark horse comics imagined. then all would be good with the world.

Good question. I'm not sure who he is either. Maybe someone else knows. i know, but i'm not sure you want to know. just know that you shouldn't try to find out until the movie is out and you should be pretty well satisfied. he is a character in t4, listed as connor's second in command. i will say nothing more and warn you not to go to the wiki site, nor imdb for that matter or be spoiled.

um...yeah...awesome... the new footage looks fantastic...more cool action shots, but an interesting look at a new side of the story we haven't seen yet. every time i see something new i'm a little more confident that they're actually going to turn this into a good movie. although the earlier stuff was cool, this trailer is the first to genuinely have me excited
