SyFy has announced their slate of new shows and movies. Among the
highlights -
"Mega Piranha" (Premieres April 10) - Barry Williams, '80s mall singer Tiffany and Paul Logan team up to stop a giant mutant piranhas, hungry and heading for Florida.
"Mongolian Death Worm" (Premieres May 8 ) - The worms have been awakened by the oil drilling in the Mongolian desert, and it's up to a treasure hunter (Patrick Flannery) to stop them lest they devour everything in their path.
"Sharktopus" (Date TBA) - Starring Eric Roberts and Hector Jimenez, the film centers on a genetically engineered shark-octopus hybrid that goes on a killing spree on the beaches of Mexico.
...and whatever other creatures whose names they found scribbled in an 8-year-old's notebook.
And that's just the movies! There's also a whole slew of
reality shows. On the plus side, at least most of the movies and shows are actually somehow related to science or science fiction. I guess that's more than you can say for most cable channels these days.
