I know that many people dote on their pets like family members, and spend ridiculous sums on veterinary bills. What was once eccentric is now normal. I have lived with at least one cat at all times since 1975, so I can at least understand how that attitude developed, although I don't share it. Even though I think pet burials/cremations are a little excessive, I can understand why some people need that.

This, though, is twisted. (SFW)

I'd think that they'd also do pharoah's.

I'm a bit weird about talking on the phone, otherwise I'd do this myself. But, can some one call them and try and talk them into doing the process to "grandpa" or "grandma" or something? And record it? It might make for a hilarious prank call. Like, first start off as if the idea is perfectly normal "Ah, my grandfather died yesterday, and we'd heard about your site so we thought we'd give you a call to see how much it might cost." Etc. Is there anyone up to this challenge?

I know people have different ways of dealing with grief, but seeing those dead pets gives me the creeps.  I can only imagine that being my dog.  Damn, that's creepy.

"Freezing Fido" and "Pooch Pops" were boring. I rejected "Frigid Pussy" just because. Ordinarily I suck at thread titles, but I'm feeling smug about this one...even though taxidermy was only mentioned in passing.

You've seen those plush animals with moving ribs that make them look like they're breathing? I can't help but imagine them doing that with these pupsicles. Now that's creepy.

While I agree totally. Especially on the second part. As much as I love my cat, this is something I just couldn't do.

Imagine doing that to a person.

I can just imagine how much Anna Nichole Smith would have gone for on eBay.

Man, that is f'ing creepy. I just lost a cat that was part of my life for 15 years. As much as I loved her and miss her, there is no way I'd want her lifeless body hanging around the house. It was hard enough seeing her lifeless for just the several minutes at the vet. I can't understand some of those comments where people think their pet will be with them forever, now. I did, however, have her cremated.

Why not just mount the head of your pet on the wall, like hunters do with the deer they've killed? At least you know the dog on the wall.  thumbsup
