Kick ass trailer

http://youtube.com/watch?v=V5DWesOvINA

music is definitely kick ass IMO. But the movie looks good as well, really nice cast, and a premise that doesn't look like most of the drivel that gets kicked out about recent wars. I think it comes out in march this year.

I am so damn sick of that song, please let it die.

Just not feeling it for the stop loss guys, they should have done some research before they signed up during a war.

Holy shit, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has officially GROWN UP.

That Drowning Pool song needs to stop being played by EVERYONE immediately.

You're right, they should have done some research or actually read the contract when enlisting.  I was "stop-loss" in 2002 for another tour and this is after I already did 8 years of service.  My drill instructor once said, "the fastest way out of boot, is to finish it."  It's the same way with another tour, finish it or risk having the government ruin your civilian life.

Well I wouldn't go that far, I am on my 5th enlistment and I don't think I have ever read the contract smile, but the possibility of stop loss was always pretty clear if you talked to people or read CNN/FOX etc.

I hear the sequel to this movie is going to be about Reserve guys pissed off because they joined for college money and then actually had to deploy.

Yeah it's in the Rambo trailer too.  Kinda weird - the song is about 7 years old at this point.

Don't watch Mysterious Skin, but read about it. And watch The Lookout. That kid is a fucking good actor.

This movie looks boring, but I think I'll see it based on the absolutely devastating power of Boys Don't Cry and the fact that the same director is doing this. She's apparently only made an episode of the L Word, which I really dislike, since.

They should have used the Drowning Pool song for Alvin & the Chipmunks.

hahahaha...

Maybe i've been under a rock, but i had zero idea about stop-loss before seeing the clip for this movie. Surely i agree that people should read all contracts. But at least this movie is a good way for people to find that out way before they get to that recruiting office. Thats how it got my interest.

It was starting to peak in popularity right around 9/11... at which point it was immediately dropped like a hot potato.  I suppose there's a lot of "hey, remember that song we were gonna use for X?  Let's use it now" going on.

I wonder if you'll see recruiting offices showing posters for this movie  icon_biggrin

I was more shocked to see him in the "Stop-Loss" trailer....maybe because he played a high schooler in "Brick" and he looks badass in "Stop-Loss."

I have heard good things about "The Lookout", so I gotta check that out.

Theres PLENTY of discussion there. It changes with each video clicked on as well. Not sure what you saw.

The Lookout was pretty good, and Levitt was excellent in it. I have high hopes for him in Stop-Loss.

Watched 'The Lookout' last night.  Not bad.  Not amazing.  Certainly not 'Brick'.

Bumping, this is being screened at the SXSW film festival. Should be a few more reviews coming out around then.

I read somewhere that he's playing Cobra Commander in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie.

Still not sure how to process that information.
