Here's the schedule: http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html

Mine should have shown up yesterday. Oh well. Can't do nothing about it. The government will get it to me when they feel like it.

For those who haven't gotten anything, there is a wizard on the IRS site you can use that will tell you if and how much you are supposed to get.   It does require some details from your 2007 return.

if it's processed by paper on or before the 15th, then it's those dates. If it's a paper file, you're probably looking at a few more weeks.

I won't get one, due to a defaulted student loan.

Apparently, I don't need the economic help.

It's not that hard to deal with student loans.  Assuming you have legitmate financial inability to pay, they are pretty willing to let you defer them almost endlessly.

Their definition of inability to pay and mine are totally different.

For example, they don't consider some of the bills I pay in order to live at my folks 'necessary'.  *shrug*  But whatever, guess I shoudln't be surprised.

I'm planning to visit San Francisco and Berkeley; I'll spend my money on plane fare, hotel rooms, liquor and strippers. Same ol', same ol'. That's my definition of stimulus rebate spending.

This may be the first time you get strippers and are permitted to stimulate them.

I mowed the grass last night for the first time this season with our push mower.

When I finished I immediately sat down and purchased a new lawn tractor from Sears.  And a bagger...and a de-thatcher... thumbsup

Thanks President Bush!  I'm gonna vote for you again!

So, it turns out that they're matching my tax refund.  My refund was 1088, ergo, my rebate is 1088.

Heh, now I feel guilty for posting that PS3 pic smile  But luckily I'm a voracious saver normally, so a purchase like this is something I would have a tough time considering outside of this quote-unquote windfall.

We're looking at moving to a bigger place this summer, so I guess it's going into the fund for that. Or for some new furniture or a new tv to help fill up that future new place. So I'm helping the housing market and buying stuff (and becoming poorer).

We banked ours for the most part, we plan on taking a photography class together with some of the money. Otherwise I like putting more money in the savings account.

Ok, mine ends in 89. Any of the last tier folks get theirs yet today? They said May 12, or does that mean that the last tier starts May 12, and then keeps going through the week?

I don't know how they decide when the electronic payments are set, but my SS# ends at the beginning of the range that was paid out last week and I didn't get my payment until Friday.  So, it's not a simple roll out.

Here's an interesting tidbit from the IRS web site:

In general, the payment schedule only applies if your return was received and the IRS finished processing your return before April 15. If you filed your return on time, but close to the April 15 deadline, the IRS may not have finished processing it before April 15.

Was happy to see something from the IRS today only to find it to be a letter informing me that we are getting $1200 and it should arrive by 5/16/08. mad So the send me a letter that arrives 2 days before my rebate only to tell me the check should be here soon. They had already sent a letter a couple ago informing us we were eligible.

What a waste of money sending all those letters out.

RobbieD, I hears ya. Same exact thing happening to me and the wife. Got a message a month ago saying we were eligable, then two days ago got another message saying we should recieve 1200 after or around 5/16/08. This is government efficiency at work...prolly cost'em a couple million for all those mailing...what a waste!!! Just the check ma'am...just the check...
