That was incredibly 'meh', although I did get a chuckle out of the Asteroids bit.

I was shocked to see the Doctor Who reference. Shocked! I mean, did .05% of the audience get that?

I cracked up though.

I laughed several times, so I was happy.

There were quite a few "insider" jokes that I'm sure the mass audience didn't really understand, though.  Dr. Who, Home Movies cameo, the Robot Chicken argument at the end, just to name a few.

Most of the funny parts were in the 5 minute clip posted here a few months ago.  But as far as Family Guy goes, it was more entertaining than 95% of their "regular" episodes.

Well I liked it. smile  Good stupid fun the whole way through.  I thought it was fun just seeing so many scenes recreated 1:1 to the original, with the same framing, sound effects, and music.  If you check your brain at the door, something as stupid as the Rebel radar-gun guy on Yavin IV go *pew! pew!* at the Falcon as it lands is worth a good giggle or two.

I did appreciate that aspect of it - they went to some effort to do that.

Oh and if I ever end up controlling a gun turret firing at strafing planes/spaceships/anything, you better believe I'm going to be singing the TIE Fighter Attack song just like Peter.  There's just no resisting it.

I thought it was funnier than a regular Family Guy episode since they didn't have all of the stupid cutaway gags.  "That reminds me of the time Peter shoved a football up his ass..."  Man do they overuse that crap.

I was impressed at the number of blatant other movie references of movies that I find hilarious.  Airplane, The Blues Brothers, National Lampoon's Vacation...all classics.

Simply awesome. The imperial march in the elevator. Joey Lawrence Haircut. The hilarious floating words. Funny from start to finish.

Although they need to never ever use the creepy child-molesting old guy ever again. Ever. Seriously.

I found funny and agree with the sentiment that the old pedophile needs to go, he was funny once, but every time he's on it's less and less funny.

i liked it.  actually laughed at a number of places.  the elevator music, peter at the gun, meg's only appearance, the grey poupon scene, the robot chicken argument, stoned droids.

i wonder if they'll do the other movies now.

He rarely appears anyway.  Even the first episode he was in he was just a bookend character/plot.

But yeah, in large doses he doesn't really work.  It goes from funny to creepy fast.

A lot of family guy stereotype characters are like that. You can't really give a stereotype an entire episode. Imagine an entire episode of Ollie Williams. It would get old fast. He works in 5 second bursts.

In the last two seasons, it seems like 'The creepy old guy' is in every other episode. He has had a pivotal part in three that come to mind. (The newspaper ep, the star wars ep, the one where he had chris doing chores around the house...) He's almost as big a character on the show as Meg is now.

Is it just me or was there a RRoD on the wall during the scene where Lois was recording the message for Obi Wan.

I watched it again last night-  it was definitely more humorous with the second viewing.  I guess I was too tired to properly enjoy it the first time around at 2am in the morning.

The part at the end where they are talking about how Robot Chicked just did it was pretty funny, too.
