Today is the day! The Today Show showed a clip of it this morning... Sidious looks rather impressive in this one. Yoda is going to get his ass kicked...

I was shocked by how bad the CGI for Yoda was. It didn't come close to looking realistic.
And I really, really hate Lucas's obsession with dragging in characters from 4,5,6. Why do we need Chewbacca? Uggghhh.

Things to note from the trailer (just speculation, but may be SPOILERS so consider yourself warned): - In the frame with Yoda in the hallway, you can see an Imperial Guard's foot to the left. In the clip with him holding the lightsaber, you can see another guard's clothes on the right. Yoda slaughtering Imperial Guards on the way to the emperor perhaps? - Check out the lightsaber colors: Anakin- blue, Obiwan - blue, Yoda - green, Mace - purple, Palpatine - red. Notice the color of the lightsaber that Mace is fighting in his brief clip - Yes, that's C3PO on the Tantive IV. If you pause it during that scene, there's a reflection on his helmet that kinda looks like a dead character from the earlier prequels. Just a coincidence, but it's still pretty funny :-)

Alright, has anyone else really thought about what Darth Sidious looks like, and the fact that he and Palpatine appear to be different people now? Unless something drastic happens that is, but I think the make-up on him looks really stupid. Cool to see him with a lightsaber, but he looks really, really dumb under that hood.
On the flip side, I about fainted when I heared the following:
"Lord Vader." "Yes, Master." "Riiiisssse."

There is some speculation that Palpatine undergoes a "transformation" once it becomes known who his alter-ego is.

There is some speculation that Palpatine undergoes a "transformation" once it becomes known who his alter-ego is. Well, he'd have to. But here's what gets me. In Return of the Jedi, Yoda warns "Do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor," yet we only got to see him throw some Force lightning around and prove he couldn't fly. Just how extensive are his powers in the Dark Side? If he's a full on Dark Side master, likely the most powerful one EVER, then just what all can he do? Man, I hope we find out. I also like how the trailer doesn't even hint at the two OTHER villains, General Grievous and Darth Tyraneous (Christopher Lee), who are running around. But new Vader footage though... that alone gets me in the theater and yes I know he's not in it all the much.

There is some speculation that Palpatine undergoes a "transformation" once it becomes known who his alter-ego is. /Geek Its been written in certain novels, that as one uses the Dark Side of the Force, it affects that person physically. So as one uses the Dark Force, it has a disfiguring effect on that person /Geek

There's a good reason why Palpatine looks like that, but considering it's spoilerific...well you get the picture.

The Emperor is poweral at that skill and that is why the tide turns in Jedi after he dies. But I'm hoping we get to see some general badassness in Ep3 too.

I don't know, I just wasn't that impressed. It looks just like the trailers from the last two movies - a bunch of fast action cuts where you can't tell what the heck is going on. It is great if you are a fanboy who wants to debate why obi-wans saber appears to change construction during what appears to be a single fight with anakin ( There is a 2 page debate on this over at SA... ) but otherwise... meh. After the mind-rape that was the first two movies of this series, how anyone can be eager about the last is beyond me.
Don't get me wrong - I love star wars and I would kill to see a good ending to the prequels, but it just isn't looking like much has changed from the suckage of the first two. I'm playing KOTOR right now and honestly, BIOWARE should have written the story and directed the first two movies. :? Lucas is a tool, and after a guy tools you twice over ya just gotta take notice...

I wish they would move it to May 4th because then they could use the date to advantage in their tagline, like:
May the 4th be with you!
