Interestingly enough, it appears Darth Maul is coming back to life in the Clone Wars cartoon. Will be interesting to see how they pull that off..

I've just got back from seeing The Phantom Menace in 3D doesn't make any kind of impact at all,the 3D was hardly noticeable in a lot of the scenes,i still liked watching it on the big screen however but seeing it this way will not change how you feel about the film whatsoever
whether this re-release will do enough at the box office to warrant the future Star Wars films,i am not sure,it has made just $41 million so far, maybe that is good for a film already out on DVD/BR,i dunno

Yeah. Star Wars is still best on the big screen, but post-processing apparently hasn't come far enough. I was hoping Lucas Arts would have some big step forward, but the 3D was still meh.

It'll still have the flaws it did 10 years ago... but the good scenes are still good as well

If they edited out Jar-Jar entirely, replaced Jake Lloyd with a mannequin (one wouldn't notice any difference), and gave Darth Maul a backstory instead of being a non-character played up on the re-release poster simply because he's cooler looking than anyone on the Republic side, then by God I'd go see the movie again. However, having already waited hours to see it on a concave screen in DC in 1999, and then having to wait 2 hours to pee because the damn theater's bathroom wasn't sufficient for a theater a third of its size, and not really being all that crazy about the movie then, I'd rather not relive all that now. In retrospect, maybe Georgie should've done a Bobb Fett trilogy and a Darth Maul trilogy and just not bothered with Eps 1-3. As excited as I was for them before 1999, in retrospect there's not much fun to be had doing movies where everyone already knows what's going to happen and who lives and who dies. Not a lot of room for suspense there.

I wouldn't of minded more on Maul actually in the movie I think all the Blu-Ray updated special effects were in this version as well,Yoda was no longer a puppet,in the original version of The Phantom Menace Yoda was a puppet apart from that one scene when he is talking to Obi Wan near the end, walking back and forth while Obi Wan is down on one knee...although i usually prefer puppet over CGI the puppet in TPM of Yoda did look a bit odd,as it looked a bit cranky with wiry hair sticking out all over the place as long as they don't replace Empire/Jedi Puppet Yoda...which you know will probably happen sooner or later

postponed!Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall's scheduled release of Star Wars Episodes II and III in 3D. Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy, we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date.

I might pay to see Episodes V or VI again in the theater (couldn't care less if they were in 3D), but the prequels? Not a chance.
