Over the past couple of months I've started listening to stand-up comedy on my iPod, I've found that I'll listen to them multiple times and enjoy the jokes a lot more than once. So far I've downloaded: Eddie Izzard - Circle, Definite Article, and Unrepeatable (I have his other stuff on DVD) Jerry Seinfeld - I'm Telling You for the Last Time (just got this last night having never heard it) Jim Davidson - And Then There Were FourJim Gafigan - Beyond The PaleJimmy Carr - Jimmy Carr Live and Stand UpI was looking for any other good comics to listen to, not necessarily just from iTunes either since their selection seems a bit limited to me. Generally I like my humour British, dry, witty, etc. and am not really into Dane Cook or the Blue Collar stuff. I don't care about bad language. Post away if you have any suggestions for some names and albums I can check out. Thanks.

It's not stand-up, but I still get a big kick out of the Cheech and Chong comedy tapes. The movies, not so much.

- Steven Wright is easily the funniest comedian I have ever heard. If you like dry humor, you will love it.
- It wouldn't really work as an audio-only format, but Jeff Dunham is an amazing and hilarious ventriloquist. There's plenty of his clips available on YouTube. Saw him live a couple weeks ago, and by the end of the show, my stomach was honestly in pain from laughing so hard.

stephen lynch is great. lewis black. more of the kinison/leary/carlin crowd, who also bear mentioning. Ricky Gervais (surprised you don't have him listed yet)
i'm drawing a blank at the moment, but those are a good starting point.

Brian Regan, Pablo Francisco has his moments, the first Dane Cook CD was pretty funny, the second not so much...

Steven Wright has a new album out, I was checking it out and did like the clips. He's very dry though. I love Ricky Gervais but he doesn't do stand-up as far as I know. I've listened to some of his Podcasts though, before they started charging for them, and it was pretty good. Thanks for the other tips, I'll start tracking down some of their stuff.

Yeah, I love Steven Wright. His new album is up on EMusic so I've downloaded about half of it and I'm waiting for next month to get the rest (only had 6 songs left for the month when I found it).
Mitch Hedberg was also pretty good with his unique delivery. Too bad he went and died.

while a bit old now, if you haven't seen/heard his "Politics" and "Animals", they're quite good. you can see all of politics on youtube btw.

I pretty much loathe stand up comedy... but there are a few good ones...
David Cross - 'Shut Up You Fucking Baby' and 'It's Not Funny' are both pretty good.

eddie izzard is hilarious i love the dvds and especially dressed to kill dennis leary is classic and NEVER gets old - and because you said you dont mind language i dont mind suggesting him chappelle is very funny he has one special thats run NUMEROUS times on comedy central and is very funny also whos the funny skinny guy mid 30s talks a lot about his dad and his crazy wife (i got my white trash black belt that night) and recently had another special? if someone can remember his name, hes pretty damn funny. if it helps im pretty sure he performed at a uso show in iraq - if that narrows it down
