that's my plan, although the producers say it's enough of a stand alone mini-series that anyone can jump in luckily I should have the first season done by the time the second episode hits next week. |

Definitely seemed to ramp the sex up...even for Spartacus. Can't remember any girl on girl from the first season. Also the combat seemed diffrent in not quite the 300 style but "turned up to 11" I remember it as.

Added it to my Netflix Instant Queue (which is awesome because I don't have Starz anymore). I liked it. Then again, I'm a sucker for origin stories. It's funny watching Crixus being treated like a newbie scrub. We should start a "Jupiter's Cock Counter" to count the frequency of when it's used. I counted 2 in the first episode. Oenomaus's wife is a hot piece for sure.

The two gladiator owners are friends, the champion is a noob, the badass trainer is just a former fighter trying to get back in the ring, and the wife thinks gladiators are filthy. The tongue in cheek irony is a bit excessive.

Wifey and I just caught the first episode. The writing was pretty good. I liked watching Hannah's acting, once again. The end of the episode was brutal as hell! I can't wait to see how this season ramps up. The sex and violence were way over the top - thank goodness.

I don't watch a lot of TV but I was hooked to the first season of Spartacus, and Gods of the Arena is just as good.. my only disappointment is that come this friday, we'll already be half way through the season! (And then have to wait a year for the "real" season 2!)
As already mentioned here, if you don't have Starz, Netflix has both Spartacus season 1 and gods of the arena on instant play.. every episode if you need to catch up on it.

After watching episode 3 I can't believe how true this is. They completely turned all the characters on their head. If this happened years before season 1 then ok, but I think its supposed to lead right into it yes? |

I doubt it but...not sure what direction they will take season 3 but maybe Gannicus earns his freedom somehow and Sparty links up with him for a post rebellion party. If they like a character maybe they bring them over into the next one.
