So the Space Shuttle Endeavor flew over the Bay Area today and I work right next to Nasa and was able to snap some pics.  Lots of people standing around waiting, it was a really fun atmosphere.  Cheering and clapping when it flew over.

So this morning the Space Shuttle flew over Sacramento, right over my building just blocks away from the State Capital.  Knowing that ahead of time, I brought my digital video camera to capture history.

Enjoy.  Sorry for the shakiness, but it was pretty awesome to see in person.

Those are great pics.  It's hard to see all of the retirement flights.  Like many here I was a kid and early teen during the first shuttle flights, and it's hard to wrap my brain around the reality that the program is over.  It also make me feel old icon_smile

Literally flew directly over the College of Pharmacy building at the University of Arizona.  We were released from class specifically to watch it take place, and it was pretty cool to experience.  Go space!

I find it funny how more people are interested in the shuttle now that it's grounded than they have been in any mission in the last 20 years.

LA Times has a pretty wild time-lapse video of the Endeavor traversing city streets on its way to the science museum (which isn't located on or next to an airport). I've seen some fun photos of it narrowly going by Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's, but seeing its whole trip in this is still pretty cool.
