I'm a big Jerry Lee Lewis fan.  A friend of mine found this on Youtube and emailed me the link.  It hurt to watch.

I don't want to remember him like this.  He looks like he's about 200 years old.  It was the same feeling I'd have if I saw, say, Mick Jagger come out and do
"I Can't Get No Satisfaction" at age 95.

What else is he supposed to do?

I feel for these guys, because what else can they do?  It's not like at this point they can open up a Dairy Queen and call it quits.  A performer performs.  Jerry Lee still has his voice at least.

It reminds me of a singer in Mexico named Jose Jose.  (Seriously, that's his name.)  For years, he was the preeminent singer in Mexico.  He destroyed his voice with alcohol, drugs, you name it.  He still puts on concerts even though he simply cannot sing anymore.  But what else can he do?  He does what he knows.

DarkEL, I don't think it's funny.  It's sad.  Nothing to laugh at frown.

Oh c'mon - when you consider the two VERY different lifestyles of those two and for them to end up looking similar -- it's funny (in an ironic way).

But yeah - i used to like Jerry Lee too.

What am I missing? I didn't see anything sad. A 50's musician was doing what looked like a kind of tribute thing. He did pretty good for a someone who is 70 something. The again I expected something really bad after Darkstar's posts.

Although I didn't watch it until the end, (since I don't like him myself), did he fall off the bench at the end or something?

+infinity.  I only hope I'm able to still do the things I love at that age (like playing Diablo 3).

I don't think he looks bad... he's not a "spry" 72, but he doesn't look overly old/worn down either.  Playing and singing is fine, if not exactly the same firebrand he was back in the 60s
