What is going on? A lot of the birds died of 'blunt force' trauma. Thousands of birds.. drop dead clear out of the sky.. 'cause something 'hit them'.
And then the fishes.. so many of them washing dead ashore. What gives?

There are often massive fish die-offs in the winter, especially in areas that normally don't get extreme cold weather. Now birds on the other hand.....  |

Here's a National Geographic article saying this is yet another case of the media taking something that happens all the time and turning it into a national freak out. Basically, they either bumped into something or a loud noise got 'em. Like a sonic boom or just fireworks. Given the timing, I'll go with the latter. |

Clearly the birds ran into a UFO, which then shot Chain Lighting Level 10 and fried them all at once. After that it fired off some fireworks to throw people off the trail. (I think that covers all the different stories I read).

Can you delay that to July 23, so I can see the Captain America movie (July 22) first? OTOH, ending things May 22 would prevent that next Transformers movie from hitting theaters in early July, so there's that. What a dilemma... Then again, I might be on a plane returning from a business trip May 21, so maybe we'd be able to escape the Apocalypse and I'd get a bird-eye view.  ------------------------- I've also read one of the reasons people fret too much about this is the whole Internet, real-time updating of the info. Maybe 50 years ago you might have read about a few incidents over the course of a year or in an annual Almanac. In today's millisecond-updating of everything and Google Map pinpointing everything, suddenly everything's happening at once and the Doom-meter gets going. |
