sometimes a sig, a user name, or an avatar just really makes me laugh (and dbt1949's smilies, too!)  I know there are lots more that made me crack up, but for now, i have to give it up to the ones right off the top of my head - and you know how small the top of my head is:

Blonco
"You're going to hell with gasoline pants on!"

Ascendent
"abdicate... food chain.... peckish"

Warning's avatar - at first i just thought it was goofy, now i can't keep from near-hysteria every time i see it.

Beer Goggles - when i see the smiley    his name pops into my head, and vice versa.  what a great name! probably a great story to go with it...

PaulBot and Rage's avatar -  i have a cat named "Spiff", just so you know.

***just the tip of the iceberg...

ABsolutely -  i DO love that, and even I knew where it was from - even though i never saw "Spaceballs" (sorry, everyone is probably gasping)...  but the top of my beanie little head is getting smaller... and smaller... every day!

you can tell by the fact that i meant to add: "POST YOUR FAVORITES" somewhere in the original post...

oh, boy... no one else answered so you're stuck with me, lol.  i'll post it here in case anyone else wants to know.  just bear in mind that my sig is for real and my memory is very poor.  here goes:

first, go to your Profile to select the avatar settings... they're at the bottom of the profile page.  if you have any pictures in "my pictures" or elsewhere that you've saved because you liked them, maybe you'll get lucky.  then you can just choose "browse" next to "upload Avatar from your machine" - it will bring you either to a window, your desktop, where you can choose "my pictures"-  or it will bring you directly there, or to your collection of pics, perhaps.

i'm afraid that i still can't run two CG windows without it freezing up, so that's as far as i got before i had to close everything else.  when i did my avatar, i already had my favorite picture of a Khajiit (from Morrowind) - in My Pics, and i just double clicked on it and it put the URL in the right place.  if that doesn't work for you, post here, and we can start again or pick it up at that point.

btw, i will not be the tiniest bit insulted if folks post corrections to this explanation!  or if they pick it up from here and go further... Tongue

oh, and the photo site that Crowley told me about, that took a little figuring out - but if i can do it you can! - is www.photobucket.com - ask if you get that far and can't figure any more out.  photobucket is free, but you do have to register.

good luck, and as they say, keep us posted!

I could say the same about you, pal.  smile

And no, while I wouldn't call myself handsome by any means, I at least have the edge on Shane MacGowan (my avatar) in the looks department.

hah, hah - you got me there!  it just looks like Shane needs a little sleep or maybe a vacation... hey, we could look on the bright side - perhaps he was just playing too many video games for too long!  i probably looked a lot like that on many an occasion...
