So, you know about the petition to Uwe Boll asking him to stop making movies, right?

You also know that he said he'll stop if the petition reaches a million signatures, right?

Well, it appears that the makers of Stride gum are on our side, as they are promising 1,000,000 packs of gum (one per signer) if the petition reaches a million signatures by May 14th!

Do your part now!  Save the world from the atrocity that is a Uwe Boll movie!

Via Kotaku

Edited: I had the name of the gum wrong.   retard

Up to 239722 since I just sigened it 2 minutes ago.
Hmm, now let's see...that means 890 signatures in the 52 minutes since Leo8877 posted which is roughly 17 signatures a minute. At that rate of signing there's a potential for 24480 signature per day and with 760278 remaining to go, the film biz could be a Uwe Boll free zone in....gasp 31 days!!!

I did my part.  I also found it difficult to refrain from contributing my own comment to the petition:

Quote
Uwe Boll's horribly skewed and borderline delusional understanding of his own value and contributions to the film industry is both frightening and deeply disturbing both to the industry and to the public.

244405.   C. K.    Waterworld is better than all of Uwe Boll's movies combined.

I heard that he said that if anyone has any problems with him, they could take it to the boxing ring with him, and they'd settle the whole thing there...

appearently, he's not a bad boxer - check this out!

He refused to box anyone who had any boxing skill or size...

He also was an amateur boxer, as such, him pummeling people smaller and weaker than him isnt that big an accomplishment.

Uwe Boll is the Orson Welles of our time.  Or was that Alan Smithee?

If there was a god Uwe wouldn't exist, so we can't be doing his work.

I'm amused at the marketing "genius" being credited to Stride gum for this campaign when their market penetration is apparently so poor that folks don't get the name of the product right. smile

Whatever will Orbital do in response to hold on to market share?

I'd never sign it. Thought Bloodrayne was a good movie and Dungeon Siege was an EXCELLENT movie! Heart of America and Alone in the Dark were pretty good as well.

A lot of Boll bashers haven't even seen his movies and to those who haven't seen Dungeon Siege, give it a rent before deciding it sucks. My opinion has always been, you dont *HAVE* to watch his movies.. but some of us actually appreciate the fact that he turns videogames into movies that NOBODY ELSE would have done.. so what harm is he possibly causing?

How many directors out there actually talk to their fans? I've been exchanging emails with Boll for maybe 3 or 4 years now and he's always interested in hearing what his fans think. (Those who havne't even watched his movies but bash them anyway are obviously not "fans"!)

I do think that House of the Dead movie was not that bad, it was more of comedy than horror but it wasn't all that bad.
And Bloodrayne and Dungeon Siege was both not THE worst movie.

However, Alone in the Dark.... I couldn't watch in one sitting...It's like taking a sleeping pill.

I rented Dungeon Siege via Netflix, and I agree that if had had a different director, a different cast and a different script it might have been a good movie.

I've only seen House of the Dead but it was a huge turd of a movie. The rave party attendees turn in to superhuman zombie killing machines as soon as they are handed a gun. Of course it is all shot Matrix slow motion style. That being said, I'm sure there are worse directors but I cant think of any.  icon_biggrin
