some pics from the set.  I seem to remember the Predators being taller....

Robert Rodriguez is 6'2". If you look at the pic of him and the three Predators, you'll see they are significantly taller than him.

Also remember that in diffuse light, everyone looks shorter. I'm sure when properly lit the Predators will look thoroughly menacing!  icon_wink

Looks like kid predators to me.

Hopefully post-processing of the film does stuff with those pictures, to make them seem bigger

I didn't know he was that tall, but if you look he's closer to the camera than the other (look at his feet) and slouching, so I wouldn't say significantly taller.  you're right about lighting though, and I imagine they'll use camera angles to make them look taller.

i wonder if this Predator will feature,LOL

i am not really that keen on Lawrence Fishburne,as he came off as an arrogant prick when he was Interviewed in London for The Matrix Reloaded Premiere...but if he is gonna be Predator Fodder,it may interest me to see him in there

I like the trailer...Adrien Brody?  I didn't expect that.

However, I also saw Walton Goggins, of the new show Justified in there as well.

Is it me, or is there a LOT more TV/movie crossover for actors than when I was a kid?  It seemed you were either on the big screen or the little screen (usually after your time on the big screen) and that was it.

Yes, there is. TV series (and games) weren't respect before, but with shows like 24 and Lost they've gained a lot of traction in Hollywood.

Good point.  Playing Mass Effect and Fallout 3 and I'm really noticing that as well.  TONS of talent in voice form.

as much as that trailer looks the fucking business...if it weren't set on another planet it looks like its gonna be a carbon copy of the first film...not,i guess that that is such a bad thing

EDIT:after watching the trailer, reread what the link has to say in Cks very first post(aint it cool news)..or just read what i quoted below from it Tongue

Quote
Anyone remember the Predator script Rodriguez did back in the '90s that never got made? The one that had Dutch scooped up and taken to the PREDATOR homeworld? That was also called PREDATORS, so I wonder how much of that script will be in his reboot. I love the idea of the Predators collecting up various aliens that have defeated a Predator and pitting them against each other for combat's sake.

looks like it is more or less that script(except Dutch of course)

Coincidentally, I finished my right leg Alien tattoo and started on my left leg Predator tattoo last month.

I'll see about getting some pics up.

Reviews don't phase me.  I want to see some killing!  However, I want to see the Predators win.  I mean come on, no humans can take out a bunch of Preds.  Don't give me a Hollywood ending!

I have no idea how much one can trust rotten tomatos, but thats a lot better than I thought. Movie looked just like another shoot-em-up monster/alien movie to me, but it may surprise of course..which I hope - I loved the original Predator movie, so could be nice with a great sequel.

I'm a bit surprised that it's initial fan reviews are as favorable as they are. You could argue it's a bit too early, but 73% at RT is surprisingly high despite the shortcomings or legitimacy of that website. I'm not completely surprised because Rodriguez has shown more than once that he can put a decent action flick together. As well, despite many thinking it's a miscast with Adrien Brody, I personally think he proved himself more than capable of playing the hunter role in King Kong.
