Rise of Nations

I was really hoping to do a search on GG when I got this game, alas that doesn't look like it's going to happen.  The reason why I wanted to search the forum for this game was because I just got it and although I enjoy it very much, it's just a little 'too' gamey for my tastes.  I was wondering if any other people found the same thing and if so what steps they took to make the game a little more realistic.  I've been searching for a realism mod but i haven't had much luck.  Perhaps im asking too much to want to play a realistic WW2 RTS?  Would I be better off getting Sudden Strike 2 instead?
