Just some recent photos that I've taken in the past month and wanted to share. I've been practicing with my new Digital Rebel when the weather has been good, and these are some of the better/fun shots that I think I've taken. I feel like I am starting to understand this camera better with each time I head out.

Anyone else have photos to share?

Handheld 1/4 second shot taken in the rain: smile

Up at Artist Point near Mount Baker:

Downtown Seattle from Kerry Park:

I'll definitely be heading back here on a clear day:

Great pics, Simon.  It's beautiful up there!  Your shots are so vivid that I feel like I'm looking through a window.

Are you using a tripod? Are they a good investment?

BTW can you or someone else recommend a good place with low prices to buy a A75 if I go that route? Online or brick and mortar.

First, excellent camera. My dad has one and I wish I'd picked up one of those every time I use my Sony. There's nothing particularly wrong with mine, it's actually even a 4.1 megapixel instead of 3.5, but the pictures seem smoother on his A75 somehow. I might just be weird I don't know.

Regardless, you should be able to get one for just under $200 now I believe.

Great shots Simon. I particularly like the fourth one. What a perfect time of year for that shot. Which one is your favorite and when is the next challenge?

That second one is amazing. It's alluring and creepy as hell at the same time.

Nice shots, Simon.

And yeah, when's the next challenge? Now that my dad bought that insanely expensive Nikon digital camera, I can borrow it to make even BETTER pics biggrin

Great stuff Simon.  One of these days I need to invest in either web hosting, or setting some up for myself on my own...

Seriously, you guys are missing stuff like digital pics of me dressed up as a women fresh from a recent Halloween party.  It's a travesty i'm too cheap.  In the end, you guys win though as at least you all are not going to have to be subjected to that type of stuff..  smile

Fantastic pics Simon!  I LOVE digital photography.  I got my wife a digital last year and I unofficailly took it over.  She jokes that I really got it for myself  slywink  Hey, here are some pics I took last month of the fall colors round the parts:

Trail to Lake Blanche, near SLC:

Lake Blanche and Sundial Peak:

Another angle of Sundial Peak:

Two of Lake Lillian and Dromedary Peak:

The rest of these are from a scenic drive called the Alpine Loop.  Got lucky and hit it at it's peak:

No doubt.

Hey Interloper, are you the guy from Gone Gold that posted a few 'digital diaries' of a couple of hikes you took into the mountains? That terrain sure looks familiar.

Nice pix guys.  I like the aspen tree pix.  Reminds me of being out in colorado over the summer.  I wish I had a better camera and could join in.

Good grief dz. Hopefully you didn't have any wardrobe malfunctions.

I remember Interloper's Fall photos too from when he posted them a while back. They really are incredible and some of the best captures of colour I have seen.

I'm not sure if there will be another Photo challenge in the future, but you never know. I'll be happy to start up a thread every now and then though and everyone can share their shots. Come January I will be getting more serious about photography and starting work on a photo project that I have in mind, so I'll have plenty of stuff to share.

Glad everyone liked the photos!

Wardrobe malfunctions... hehe good lord that could have resulted in some sort of Day after Tomorrow like effects that would end life as we know it.  (Maybe not though as nothing in that movie was rational on any level...)

I'm gonna post some nice pics from my recent cruise next.  That should make things better.  smile

Ya, I did post a "pictorial walkthrough" of a hike I did back on GG.  Never worked so hard for good pics in my life  slywink  These fall ones are new, just took them last month.   BTW the pics from GG thread can be found here.
