@AdamSchefter: As @RavensInsider insider reported, WR Anquan Boldin traded to 49ers for a sixth-round pick. WRs piling up in NFC West.

No, it makes sense, because they were going to wind up getting nothing.

I can't believe the Seahwaks are trading for Harvin, though, wow. Between Bevell and Carroll (who recruited him at USC), they know a lot about him. Also remembering that at one time Marshawn's rep was as problem child in Buffalo, if Harvin is on board with being part of a team, this could be one scary offense.

I wonder, though, if this means the end of Sidney Rice (former Harvin teammate)...how much money can they afford to tie up in WRs and TEs?

I do not like the idea of Harvin in Seattle.  The only bright side is that he will probably be injured for at least one of the 49ers meetings per year.

Boldin for basically free is pretty awesome.

Yeah Reed has lost a step and Whitner isn't very good at covering deep.

Honestly I don't think we need either of them (Goldson or Reed).  If the Niners have a cover Safety identified in the draft, I think that's the route they will take.

It's draft time. I guess I'd be more excited if I followed college football, but since I don't, I have no knowledge of incoming players.

I hope 49ers trade some of their picks away since they won't be able to sign all 14.

My prediction is that the Ravens will be dropping out of the first round.  It's just Ozzie style to grab more draft picks

It's unbelievable how many picks the 9rs have. I can see them dealing for picks for next year or making a significant move UP. They sure have a lot of means to do so. Good situation to be in. They've also flown under the radar, I think, in coverage of the draft. I'm interested to see what they do.

Mmm love draft weekend. Got frozen pizzas and other junk food ready to go. Hopefully Ted Thompson makes some good moves. He's over-due to hit on a 1st round pick.
To be honest, I don't know this draft as well as I do in a normal year, but I think that's because I see a ton of 3rd/4th round talent all over the draft - and not a lot of 1st/2nd round talent. I just didn't do my normal study this off season due to it being a 'down' year for talent.

I'm enjoying following all the 'posturing' for the QB class. I don't see any of them being 1st rounders at all, but someone is going to flinch. I'm just curious as heck who will. The Rams 1st round pick from the RG3 trade last year is available and I think could be the spot where a team moves back into the first round  - actually, the 20s could see a ton of movement in trades. It's just that kind of draft.

Just saw this on Deadspin. It's a Kimmel bit outside Radio City asking people about draft prospects. I thought it was funny

I'm just saying. If I'm picking in the first round and Buster Hymen is there - you GOTTA take him.

Ravens pick up Matt Elam which I'm happy about that,  Also, my cousin was picked up by the Bills at 16.  Did not see that coming.  My family was lighting up the FB when EJ was selected.  I really expected him to go in the second round.

Btw, if people don't believe the league is changing to a passing league need to look all the OL and DE/DT picked in the first round.  Only one QB selected and no RBs.

It was a over-reach, imo.  I expected 2nd round.  What's done is done.  Now is time to show and prove.

One draft does not a changing league make.  The quality of people in each position is not equal in every draft, nor do all teams have the same needs every year.

If/when they eventually cut Baldwin, it's a lot easier to cut another team's draft mistake than it is to cut your own.

tough game to watch if you were a Broncos fan.

but for Seattle, it was a huge treat.  two 100+ yard TD runs.  just awesome to see action in preseason, assuming noone gets hurt.

Since I'm probably not the only one who ditched cable and broadcast TV it would be nice if the NFL actually did move forward with making live games more accessible via YouTube.

First, I hope Sanchez is ok - no one deserves to lose their season.

Assuming he is...

Thank you, Jets, for simply existing and to Rex Ryan for being the gift that just keeps on giving.  biggrin

Apparently NBC Sports is maintaining a police blotter page for the NFL.  They also maintain a tote board in the left column of articles, which is how I found it.  It's been 6 days without an arrest.

Oh, and because of EJ Manuel's knee injury and Kolb's (at least) third concussion yesterday, it looks like the Bills are signing Matt Leinart so we don't have to field the rook in Week 1.

This should make for an interesting first week for the Pats -
Quote
The Buffalo Bills plan on starting undrafted rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel in their regular-season opener if EJ Manuel cannot play, coach Doug Marrone said Monday.

The Bills host the New England Patriots in their opener on Sept. 8.

If Tuel does indeed start for the Bills in Week 1, he will become the first undrafted rookie quarterback in the common draft era (since 1967) to start a season opener, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
