Story here: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1954122

Johnson to the Yanks for Javier Vazquez, minor league catcher Dioneer Navarro, at least one other player, and $8 million to help with Vazquez's salary.

My response? BOOOOOO. The Cubs better damn well sign Beltran now. Then again, can anyone see this Yankees team choking in the playoffs again? The high payroll Yankee teams are NOTHING like the teams that won all those World Series in the late 90's. Nothing but high paid talent, and zero chemistry and role players (Paul O'Neill, Tino Martinez, Scott Brosius anyone?).

Beltran will be a Yank soon as well.
And being a long time Yankee fan, i agree they are setting themself up again to be an overpriced set of should-of and could-have beens.

I LOVE IT!!!

I hope they get Beltran too!!

I WANT the Yankees to have a 700M payroll and still lose - It's even better.

Cubs aint gettin nobody.  You heard it hear first.

Chicago teams (or, at least, their owners) love the all-mighty dollar more than they love being a winner.  My crystal ball tells me that they wont get any big name talent, but they will bank their future on some guy who was the neighbor of the kid who won the little-league playoffs in '95.
