I have done that with my wife, but not on a big, public forum like YouTube. Only with people who know her and understand that she is actually incredibly smart, which make those moments all the more amusing.
Of course, I'll also happily point out when I'm an idiot.

Only in Utah...  While funny, I can't help but think that guy's a bit of a douche for posting it online. Maybe his wife isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but why the need to let everyone in the world know that? Seems like a dick move to me...I can't imagine publicly shaming Mrs. Gratch like that. That's why I suspect that she was acting. Pretty convincing if she was, and downright cruel if she wasn't. |

It may have been one of those blind spots. Everybody has them. There was an episode of the IT Crowd about it. Where you somehow manage to get to adulthood but miss something very basic that everyone knows.

Apparently, experts have studied it and can't find any evidence of CGI. EDIT: Some back and forth on the validity on Gizmodo. It also has some interesting facts about the mechanics involved. For example, it uses an Android phone, and Wiimotes and Nunchucks!
