It's not clear what they mean by "on". Do they mean you need to pull the plug, or is using the power button enough?
I read that to mean leaving it fully on, like having [email protected]
running 24/7. But then they go right on to to say...
The report advised consumers to switch off their electronic devices at the source, rather than just from the remote control, which puts them on power-consuming stand-by mode.
That makes me think they mean stand by mode consumes more energy then a fridge, which blows my mind if true. I know devices in stand by suck back lots of electricity, but that 5x number seems really high.
