Nice Mazda3!  (Hey didn't you say it was a 5-door?  That looks like a 4-door version to me.  THought the 5-door had the giant station wagon-like butt smile).

Anyway, almost got one of those, but settled on an 05 Corolla S.  Here's a blurry pic:

I love my car biggrin

It's definitely cool having a vehicle that's one of only a couple of thousand made in a given year though.

I finally got to see a new Mustang's rear turn signals in action the other day.  I assume they're LED?  They light up in sequence from left to right and I thought it looked pretty nifty.

Edit: Or rather, they light up in the direction the turn is indicated. Duh.

Love the new mustang.  Not really what I'd look for performance wise in a vehicle, but she sure is perdy.

The funny thing about this... I had no idea of this feature until some host at a restaurant mentioned it... been driving the car for 6 months... I've never been behind one with the turn signals on.

I see why GM is posting MAJOR losses. All the cars here are Japanese, except the mustang..

One of my cars is a GTP Grand Prix

And I have a Durango (2002?)

It's the Ford Focus, but it's the model by the Special Vehicles Team. So, basically a ZX3 focus with a 6-speed manual transmission, 40 extra horsepower, and a bad-ass suspension. Plus a fairly mild/subdued body kit.

Mine's a Ford, so it is an american car, but it was built in Mexico. And mine being Ford definitely doesn't help out GM slywink

I'd love to buy an American made car, though not necessarily by an American manufacturer, since as ThinJ stated, they might be made in Mexico. Problem is, there wasn't a single American car in my price range that compared to mine.  When Ford or GM makes a FUN $30k car, I will buy it.  Until then, Mitubishi and Subaru seem to have a lock on that market.

I love my car!  These pics are from when I first bought it a year and a half ago.  The only difference is that I replaced the front grill with a aluminum one that looks really good with the badges and door handles, IMHO.

I refuse to waste film on my 16 year old paint-faded, hail-damaged, fender and door caved in by collision, rust bucket of a Mazda pickup.  Have driven the same piece of crap for 16 years with no end in site.  Junk, but it runs.  Just refuse to pay what they want for cars nowadays.

I do dig all of your nice new looking shiny rides.  Really nice.  I have no life. I live vicariously through others.

Nothing wrong with that. I drove a nissan with 250k on it before I got my current car.  It had panels missing, rust all over, paint missing, torn seats etc.  The price of new cars is outrageous, and I waited until the cost of maintenance began to outpace the cost of a new vehicle.  When it reached that point, I gave in.  And I plan on doing that with this car too.  Drive it til it won't drive anyone more.

i'm in the same situation...current car is an '89 pontiac sunbird with 243K miles that i've had for nine years now (since senior year of high school).  all things considered, it's actually still in pretty good shape (for a 16yo car) and runs fine, but any major repairs cost more than the car is worth.  not to mention that i'm ready for something new...and will have the job to afford it.

interloper...how do you like the RSX?  that's second on my list of possible buys after a Subaru WRX.  my biggest concern is that i'm moving to a location with a lot of snow (western MI, then CT a year later) and am a little worried about how it might handle in those conditions.  the AWD of the subaru is a big plus there, but it's more expensive.  i test drove an RSX and it's a very nice and fun to drive little car.

that's exactly what i've found...very few sporty sedans or coupes in the $20-30K range that hold a candle to the foreign brands.  i've looked into a lot of those cars...pontiac Grand Am, dodge Stratus R/T and Neon SRT-4, chevy Monte Carlo...and most of them don't compare to the "foreign" cars in terms of appearance, performance, or reliability.  i guess it's all a matter of personal taste though...

Made it out the door for a smidge over $15k.  Now everyone post and tell me how ripped off I got smile  Actually I think it's pretty good for a sticker price of nearly 18.  I even put up a huge fuss because they were trying to charge me $200 for the "preferred accesory package" which was effectively floormats plus a trunk mat.  Got that $200 taken right off the top smile

Also, an effective line to use in a dealership is "If anyone even mentions any aftermarket stuff to me I'm walking out."  My sales guy: "Done!"

It's a great car, but visually it's a total sleeper. It's funny, in the 90s pontiac went nuts with body cladding, fins, wings, scoops, etc.. then they finally put out a car that deserves a little flash and dress it up like a Cavalier.

yeah, mine too:  if you can find a picture of a shiny 1997 Toyota Tacoma, 4WD, Xtra cab - i couldn't -  then add a lot of scratches and small dents, and a bunch of dust - then that's mine! I'm an excellent driver, I bought the dents with it.

his name is Gumby and his color is: Imperial Jade Green (no, not Empire, but close!) Tongue
