Seems like there are lots of haters of the new GTO, but I'm loving it so far:

It's a great car, but visually it's a total sleeper.

Exactly.  I parked next to a Sunfire at a convenience store a couple weeks ago.  A guy inside starts talking to me about my car and his GTO.  It took me a while to realize that the Sunfire was infact a new GTO.  Doh!  They should've put a healthy dash of 70s retro in to the design like the new Mustang and Charger as they both look sweet.  It's nothing personal of course, as I'm sure it handles like a dream, but it just doesn't do it for me.

interloper...how do you like the RSX? that's second on my list of possible buys after a Subaru WRX. my biggest concern is that i'm moving to a location with a lot of snow (western MI, then CT a year later) and am a little worried about how it might handle in those conditions. the AWD of the subaru is a big plus there, but it's more expensive. i test drove an RSX and it's a very nice and fun to drive little car.

It has been a good car, fun, good handling.  Ride is rough, however.  It's not the type S though.  Wife shares the car with me and she despises manual tranny's, so we went with the automatic on the base model.  I really, really wanted the type S.  It's much funner and zippier.  But the mrs. wouldn't budge frown  Also, it was a couple thousand more than what I wanted to spend.  Anyway, I drove our rsx this last winter here in the salt lake area with snow and had no probs (on the factory tires no less).  However, the AWD of a Suburu is great, plus the wrx would be a much funner (faster, powerful) car.  If I had the dough, I would have gotten a wrx over the rsx.  But it was nearly 10k over what I was able to get the rsx for.  All in all it is a good, reliable, fun car.

In real hindsight I would have bought a truck as I'm really hearing the outdoors call my name lately, and the rsx sits way too damn low for me to attempt anything but the best of dirt roads.

Oh, and yea I like the new GTO's also.

yeah, mine too:  if you can find a picture of a shiny 1997 Toyota Tacoma, 4WD, Xtra cab - i couldn't -  then add a lot of scratches and small dents, and a bunch of dust - then that's mine! I'm an excellent driver, I bought the dents with it.

Sweet!  I have a 2003 Tacoma, 4WD, Xtra cab.  I actually prefer the front-end on the earlier Tacoma (yours) more.  Mine is usually black, but it's more of a dark yellow because of all the pollen.

My previous truck was that same green, which I liked.

I'm not going to post my car(s) here 'cuz ya'll will just laff. I'm married with children, so 'nuff said.

Wish I had some pictures of some of my rides when I was young and crazy. My best ones were a 69 Camaro & 82 Trans Am.

Sigh..... those were the days...

Hmm, looking back it appears I might've insulted a man's ride, and that's grounds for a 3 o'clock rumble. smile  I've had my fair share of people tell me that they don't care for my car, too.   It's just a matter of what pleases our eyes.  On Friday I was eating lunch on a patio and a guy was getting in a red GTO that was parked with its pipes facing me.  I have to say that when he fired it up I was very impressed with the sweet, throaty growl.

Hey disarm, keep her shiny as a mirror with Zaino.  It's a synthetic that's so glossy you'll be turning heads.  Plus it has SPF built in, and, the main reason I use it, is it is super durable.  I put 3 coats on just over 3 months ago and that water still beads up and sheets right off.  I've noticed with waxes that I'm lucky to get a couple weeks out of them, especially in the summer when the sun breaks them down.  Plus Zaino doesn't streak.  I can't recommend the stuff highly enough.  www.zainostore.com   Also check out http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/detailing/ these guys really know how to keep a car looking better than new.  Tons of good info there.

2010 Infiniti G37x

unfortunately, it's been raining since just after i got back from the dealer, so i haven't had the chance to go for a nice drive yet.  i really liked the Acura RSX that i traded away today, but the G37x just blows it away...looks damn sexy, has enough tech to satisfy any geek, and driving is just incredible icon_cool

(total coincidence, but it's kind of crazy to me that this thread ended with my posting pics of my last new car almost five years ago to the day...)

his name is Gumby and his color is: Imperial Jade Green (no, not Empire, but close!) Tongue

Heya, Stiffler!  Do you still have your Tacoma?  I still have Gumby, because he simply... Will... Not... Die... (or even FAIL! occasionally) - plus I don't drive much these days.  In my case, if it always starts and always runs, it will be in my garage on standby forever!

Disarm, your car is awesomely beauteous - Congrats!

Buick Regal.

Advantages:    1  Low mileage
                      2  Is paid for
3  Gets better gas mileage than a truck
                      4  Cheap full coverage insurance

Disadvantages: 1 Is not a truck

The standard 3.6L.  I would love to get the V, but it would be wasted sitting around in Seattle traffic half the time.  The standard engine is just under 3x the amount of power I've ever driven anyway smile
