So this is just a preview for the trailer that won't be out for over a week?  Sheesh

And after that second movie, they had better come up with a decent finale.

It's like the Matrix. If you saw the second one, you saw the third just to see how the series ended.

You're not the only as I thought the second film was much better than the first.

While the second movie was good, it was definitely not better than the first. The sequel was just...too silly for its own good.

I really liked the second one, but the first holds a place in my heart as one of the best movies of all time.

I'm hoping that the weak spots in the second one were just settting us up for a grand finale.

Wow. Hollywood really knows how to milk it.

Sadly, I think about now I have lost any shred of respect for Hollywood I once had.  Especially after watching "Empire of Dreams" Documentary a few days ago about the bullshit Lucas dealt with from big studios.  Clearly, they only have profit in mind - originality and quality be damned!

To be honest though, I don't like this series very much.  They can go ahead and push it down the Rambo 9 track with endless profit-sequels that suck for all I care - I guess.

I really would have preferred them turning the movie into a series of one shots, like Indiana Jones.  Then, they can still have an overarching plot, but you still have the beginning, climax, and conclusion all in one movie.

The Curse of the Black Pearl
Dead Man's Chest

At World's End
?

Doesn't really fit the flow of the other titles to me.

Uh, how is this news? Since it was founded, Hollywood has always been after profit over creativity. Every filmmaker working, from Spielberg on down, has fought the good fight against blatant studio interference/stupidity over the "integrity" of their art. Sometimes this leads to moments of brilliance as in the film M.A.S.H. where some of the announcements over the PA are direct studio notes Robert Altman received. We've all seen plenty of times when studio interference kills a movie outright or makes it so watered down that any good was thrown out to appeal to all demographics. That's one of the primary reasons why I appreciate top-notch film making more and more because films like Lawrence of Arabia and The Shawshank Redemption are the exception rather than the rule.

/rant off

That being said, I love the Pirates series but my mother actually fled in the middle in the second one. She just couldn't take it anymore, which makes me laugh. I'm anxious to see the new one especially since they're bringing back one of my favorite characters. icon_lol

Found the second movie horribly disappointing but I'll certainly be in theaters for the third and hope they can bring back the magic that the first film had.

I never understood peoples complaints about that -- seems perfectly in line to me

A New Hope   ==  A Phantom Menace
Empire Strikes Back  ==  Attack of the Clones
Return of the Jedi  ==  Revenge of the Sith

So similar - they seem almost unoriginal.

How sad is it that even though I know the trailer won't be up till midnight tonight - I still just logged onto the page to see if it was there??

BUT if I hadn't - I wouldn't have seen that they HAVE posted an exclusive clip from the movie showing a little verbal exchange between Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa.

You can see it here

Please tell me I didn't just see a pirate ship sailing over a sand dune.

Other than that one shot, it looked pretty cool.

Also, I went on the ride for the first time in 25 years in February. It wasn't as great as I remember.  It's A Small World has held up tho  thumbsup

Second one sucked and left me with zero desire to see the 3rd.

I think you're definetly in the minority there.

As for the rides - It's a small world was completely refurbished a couple of years ago and had some updates as well. All they've done to PotC is add Jack Sparrow and Barbosa.
