It’s taken a long time to show up, but you can now see to the right of our main page underneath the GoGamer and ThinkGeek links that there is a Paypal link. This is not a sign that Gaming Trend is on its last leg or anything, but a reaction to users asking for the chance to donate towards the site. The money will go straight to the server payments and won’t be pocketed by Ron or any of the Gaming Trend crew.

We have big plans ahead, including a re-design of the site, the database and other things. As thanks for giving a donation we will offer you your own forum tag under your nickname if you like. The tag has to be within CoC rules and you can contact [email protected] (Ron) with your special tag wish and we will get it done as soon as possible. Once again, thank you for your donation.

If you don’t want to use Paypal and want to send money directly to Ron, feel free to mail the donation to:

I'm not looking to make money - anything I get sent will go directly towards these costs and getting better grades of service and such for the site.  This isn't just a hobby to me and we will still move forward even if a dime didn't come our way.  That said, the tally is below and I'll keep it updated:

Tally as of - 9/01/05
$259.10

It won't affect my donation, but I have to know... what's a forum tag.... umm, and a CoC...  umm, and what are their rules?

Hey Myto
see under your name where it says Console Gold Reader? That will be replaced with your custom tag "Hot Chick Cop" (btw, remind me to tell the story of the hot cop chick that wanted to go out with me who's phone number I lost) if you donate.

The CoC is the Code of Conduct that governs our behavior here.

BTW, 160 already? Damn spanking good job nubs.[/url]

psst.  you need to change the main page link under the first post here...  The paypal link is also an @consolegold email.  I intend to give (a little) money to support the community, but I'd prefer to wait until you straighten that out.

I am rather humbled and embarrased to post this, but I need your help.  I just had a major financial catastrophy that depleted my savings to zero - in short, I need your help.  If there is anything you can donate to the site this month, it would be incredibly appreciated.  The site isn't in danger of closing up shop or anything, but it would take a great deal of pressure off of me right now.  Again, I am humbled by having to make this request, but in the position I'm in, I have no choice.

I appreciate your help.

Big thanks to PJ and Stiffler for their help.  PJ knows me personally and can vouch that I wouldn't ask unless it was absolutely necessary.  I really appreciate it guys.  Thank you.

It does, a great deal.  Thank you very much Justin - I hope it isn't truly more than you can afford.  I don't want to put you in a bad position to improve my own.

Unless someone else is named Justin, I gave what I could KD.  I didn't see anywhere to specify a comment that I could put my forum name in.  As an aside, any progress on getting GT faceplates for the 360?  Or perhaps some shirts and/or mugs to help offset costs?

*slaps forhead*  Yea, you are both named Justin! (You and Purge)  The sentimate is the same for both of you though - I really appreciate the help.

I've been talking with Mad Catz and Logitech on getting GT 360 faceplates.  Its slow going...corporations are funny that way. :/

As far as shirts, I'm trying to find a quality that I like.  I'd like something nice instead of some crappy cafepress thin T-shirt, ya know?  Trying to go local so I can see a print before it goes into production.

The mugs on the other hand...those I think I could cafepress.  Let me talk with Mike about some graphic options...

Ron, after reading the other thread about donating to the site, I found this thread and saw the troubles you had earlier this year.  I feel terrible that I never saw this thread or contributed.

I'm correcting my earlier mistake.

Merry Christmas!

Hey, any news on the GT Logo mugs or faceplates?

We took on a bit of extra expense for the new server.  That runs us $149.00 a month in addition to shipping costs.  Right now we aren't pulling in any real money to speak of as we are not pushing advertisers until after the redesign launch.  So it's all out of my pocket again.

Can I donate by check? Would I make it out to "Gaming Trend"? Or I'll do a money order, I was going to donate by mail. I've hung out here so much in the last year and a half, it's about time I cough up some cash.  icon_razz

Good question. I'll add it to the top.  If you wanted to donate by check, just make it out to me personally.  I'll update this thread and get it under my name instead of Loren's. smile

And it goes without say, but thank you.

I'll be remaking this thread after our fundraiser is over, so I'm unstickying it and letting it die.  It'll rise like a Phoenix later...
