Auditions start tomorrow, so this is pretty real. Oh did not realize that, but I thought the judges dont show until September? Anyway she can always come in late (nothing says she misses the beginning she cant show up), just posturing! |

I'm definitely going to miss her inane banter and "you're so magical and beautiful and wonderful" babbling, plus the constant fighting with Simon. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't just a marketing/bargaining ploy, with maybe Simon and Ryan bringing her back in at the last moment.

I'll admit to watching Idol and I dno't think she brings anything to the show. There is some uncomfortable amusement to be had at her apparent shortage of sanity, or excess of pharmaceuticals, but that won't be missed.

A friend of mine had a great suggestion for a replacement.... BRITNEY SPEARS!!! She's like a younger version of Paula in all ways, but with greater popularity, more hits and even more baggage. She would be awesome and she and Simon could have a season long bet - loser has to shave their head for the finale. It's ratings gold, pure and simple.

Probably best to retire American Idol. I can't really see it surviving without him. They were jumping the shark with Ellen, and continuing on without him will be swimming with them. Afterall, when Simon started X-Factor, Pop Idol ceased. Canadian Idol ended about two years ago. They knew when to end it.

Reports I read today say that Fox will be getting X Factor, and that Simon may be courting Paula as a judge. If so, it would mean American Idol basically just gets replaced by X Factor and the universe continues to function.
