Let's just play the game and finish the season.  What other team even is close to these two now?

I was. Outside the Pats, the Steelers have been the most dominant team in the NFL over the first two weeks.

Hey Scott, let me help you with a word you may be unfamiliar with:

Presumptuous:

pre·sump·tu·ous  [pri-zuhmp-choo-uhs] –adjective
1. full of, characterized by, or showing presumption or readiness to presume in conduct or thought.
2. unwarrantedly or impertinently bold; forward.

As a recovering Bills fan, I think the folks of Buffalo- even though they have nothing else to do but drink and eat when the Bills aren't 'playing'- is tear down Rich Ralph Wilson stadium (which my dad helped build) and pave it over.

There's just no point to that team even existing.

Oh...and I have no doubt the Pats are a good team, but they play in the weakest division in football these days.

Bills, Bengals, Browns, Cowboys, Dolphins, Redskins.

That's your schedule before meeting the Colts.  You might be able to rest your first team for some of those games!   icon_eek

I don't know.  Pats blew out two playoff teams from last year.  Blew them out.  Both games were laughers, jokes.  San Diego was supposedly one of the top three teams in the league.

I haven't seen anything nearly as impressive.  Pittsburgh's wins were impressive, but were against bottom feeders.  The 49ers are an NFC team, so they really don't count, do they?

What's your point?  San Diego isn't in the Pats division and they wiped them pretty well.

after watching san diego last week there was no doubt in my mind they werent anywhere near as good a team as last year (what the hell happened???) but man...

i wasnt expecting THAT

and yes the next month and a half of pats football is going to be boring as hell - the schedule for the beginning of the year looked like a cakewalk as far back as a year ago (with the exception, at the time, of sd) but man now its just going to be bad

bengals might be tough but every year they sort of try really hard not to live up to expectations (and after last nights 100 point game im thinking their d is lacking - i mean i know they were playing the sain.... i mean the col... i mean the f$%@ing browns??? smile)

Scott - it's not the Patriots that I think are the weak link in the scenario you gave.  Just an FYI.

Doopri - Two words: Norv Turner.

Teggy - I hope you're right but think you're very, very wrong.

I still believe in Devil's boy Manning, if that's what you're referring to.

I still don't understand why the Chargers hired Turner?  Wow.  I also don't buy that Rivers is a very good QB yet.  He should have stepped up yesterday, and some of his passes were horrible, unless you were a Patriot LB.

I don't see an NFC team out there capable of beating one of the top AFC clubs.  Moss vs Owens will be a fun media matchup I suppose, but I think the Patriots have far to much talent, and are far better coached then the Cowboys.

These two Patriots wins have come without two of their best defensive players on the field as well.  Not bad.

Yes... beating the powerhouse Bills and Browns is true, true dominance.  THEY ARE WHO THEY THINK WE ARE.  YOU WANT TO CROWN THEIR ASSES, CROWN THEM!

Eh?

It seems like everyone is ready to crown the Colts who've beaten an apparently overrated Saints team and barely slipped by the Titans. Not saying the Steelers are the best team in the league, but it seems silly to rate the Colts as the #1 or #2 team in the league based on their performance so far and ignore what the Steelers (and a couple other teams) have done.

But, but, but...PEYTON!!!!1!!

Seriously, as long as Peyton Manning is playing for the Colts, the sports media is going to be falling all over themselves talking about how the Colts are the team to beat.

If the Cardinals got Peyton, they would be the team to beat.  Peyton is an excellent QB (as much as I hate him), but other than him, the Colts really don't have much of anything going on, though their running game sucked less last year than it has in the past.

You really think so Chaz?  I'm no Colts lover, just the opposite actually; but don't you think their defense has been impressive since getting bashed in last year's regular season?

"Canton Bob" Sanders and "Spins" Freeney! Don't you watch ESPN!?!?!
Those two guys make the Colts the most dominating defensive team since the '85 Bears!!!

I hate the Colts...and the Steelers...and the Jets....and the Chargers...  icon_biggrin
