Seriously?
http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/08/29/cat.stabbing.ap/index.html

Quote
A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting that he forced his 7-year-old daughter to kill the family cat by holding a knife in her hand and making her stab the pet.

Quote
Collins was arrested March 13 after police said he forced his daughter to stab Boots, the family's 8-month-old cat. The girl and Collins' 11-year-old son said their father ordered them to stab the cat because he wanted them to "learn to kill."

Police said the boy tried to hide the cat from his father, but Collins found the animal and strangled it as his children watched.

But here's the part that really get's me:
Quote
Under the plea agreement, Collins must receive counseling and attend parenting classes and substance abuse treatment. The judge also prohibited Collins from owning a pet.

WTF!! Oh yes - let's prevent him from owning pets, but hey we'll still going to let this freak have kids after attending some lame ass parenting class.

Seriously? This is obviously someone who needs serious psychiatric help and should be considered a danger to his children

My guess is that the sentence they are talking about is just from the criminal judge. More than likely there will also be a Juvenile judge in charge of a Dependency, Neglect and Abuse case. This judge will have the power to determine this guys ability to parent and potentially remove the children from his care.

This is the most fucked up thing I've read.  Why can't people like this be dragged out into the street and then shot?

Yes, drug out and shot.

By the children.

To teach them to kill.

My granddad had a cat named Boots.  6-toed cat, too.

This whole story makes me sad.

You guys don't see the irony in dragging him out and shooting him?

That's the whole reason why I think that should happen to him.  icon_twisted

Reminds me of the father who got angry, dragged his son outside, handed him a knife, then told him to over and over to stab him.

Well guess what, he got what he wanted.

As for this event, I do hope there's even more punishment beyond just this criminal case.  I'd love to see him lose a lot more in a civil case.

Who would sue him in civil court? The Humane Society?

That guy wouldn't get honorable mention for parent of the year.

This is the winner
