Thanks gang, I would rather avoid having to deal with that monthly if we can avoid it.  Let's see where we end up, servers are coming up now on other subnets (and I'm constantly nmapping ours, and there's some minor progress over the hours).  I think it's going to be a day or two though before we see it online; but I am cautiously optimistic we will see it again.

Can you post an OO-Amazon link?  I don't have it bookmarked...

The Volumedrive website is back up, but still no response from our server although a handful of others have come up.

Bill Clinton is garbage.    See this for proof.

I really hope this is intended as a joke.

Seriously?

Wasn't sure.  You do have a pension for OUTRAGE.

10 years in on my Outrage pension.   another 10 and I can retire from being outraged!  slywink

Well the Volumedrive website is down again.   mad

edit: On top of that I now see their BGP routes are no longer being advertised again, which is a VERY bad sign.

I guess that is possible, someone on WHT suggested that maybe they wrote Inforelay a bad check, which under normal circumstances I would find hilarious and ridiculus. At the moment not so much.

I don't think he was suggesting it, but rather that it could be the cause of their BGP ceasing to be advertised again all of the sudden overnight.

Along that line of thought, BurstNET CEO has stated that the leasing company that actually owned most of the servers intended on placing a blanket lien against Volumedrive. If that is someone like GE Capital I wouldn't be all that surprised if they were in the process of seizing pretty much everything all the way down to his underwear.

Agreed but the problem is pricepoint to dedicated server ratio.  VD was one of the cheapest options out there (now I see why); while I love OO I'm not going to dig into my own pocket for a few hundred a month for top tier server hosting.

If it comes to that, set up a mechanism and put me down for $5/month, zero expectations, indefinitely.  I certainly get more out of OO than other services I pay for.  I bet others would agree.

Like me!
I do make sure all of our Amazon purchases are through the OO link but I know it's not a monthly commitment.

Wow, for the longest time this forum was blocked at work so I just perused it by phone on occasion.  But now it seems to come through and I get to try out the fine selection of smilies you have here (until whatever blocking software gets wise to this and blocks it.)  ninja2  So many fun choices headbang

Also love that Gaming Trend is covering board games on the website!  Nice addition.

If the folks that actively use OO (and know about us harboring here for the nearterm) could please go to:

http://ipv4.bhs.proof.ovh.net/

I'd like you to post your speedtest results on your home connection (while it is idle please, if you are uploading/downloading, using VOIP phones etc it may not be representative).  These guys have been in the business for awhile and have some attractive pricing for servers -- I just want to ensure the Quebec DC peering is fast enough for everyone.

Sorry I should have added that if you could post the theoretical limit of your connection to, just want to make sure the throughput is reasonable for your connection.. Talked with Rip about this company, and he knew of them without having to look them up -- reasonably priced, been around a long time and seems reliable.  I will probably put the order in later today after some people have the opportunity to post any crappy speeds.
