After the last major outage the servers were moved from Rip's office to a data center in Canada. I haven't heard from any of the other Mods or Admins as to what is going on. I can say i saw some database errors when refreshing a page shortly before it went dead. I will try and get in touch with Rip and Fishpants as i should have both of their emails, hopefully they can give us an idea of what is going on.

Hmm. 12 hours later and its still down, plus none of the people in charge of the technical details have posted. Weren't the servers switched last time? Unless the server is in Nashville . . .
I thought they had moved to professional hosting and were paying actual money for it.. After the last major outage the servers were moved from Rip's office to a data center in Canada.
Yeah, that. Except after the last OOutage Rip posted that he noticed the server was down and rebooted. Made me wonder if they went back to the old arrangement. Whatever happened, it looks like we're in for one of their longer OOutages again. |

No, we didn't. But it's a dedicated server so the technical admins have the ability to reboot the machine. |

Canadian server. If we didn't have animals and a kid on the way i would want that. Ok I've sent an email to Fishpants and Rip I also volunteered to be the community ambassador so that i can relay questions and answers for everyone. I even set up an email for you guys to send your questions to. OOutage (at) bandkricket (dot) com just send questions there and i'll filter through them so that we aren't asking the same question repeatedly. I'll respond with any answers i get and post them here as well. I could also set up a mailing list and send an email notification once the server is up. |
