Not to worry. His account is inactive now I think. He will need to bow to the great ones to get back in. Nothing prettier than CeeKay on his knees.

bah, CeeKay bows to know one, not even CeeKay.

So what are you doing on your knees then?

Yep, same here.  I know they were doing some maintenance on it yesterday, but I'm pretty sure that was finished.

Gedd was working on some sort of upgrades.  I know he ran into issues but pushed through and got it up and running.  He was looking for feedback in case anyone ran into issues though.  Maybe we should all call him at home this morning.  I'm sure the twins are up anyway.  icon_twisted

Wow, here we go again. I wonder if this had anything to do with the upgrade. Last night I got some database error. Tried reloading and it's been a perpetual wait ever since.

This is why GT (and by extension, KD) is so damn cool and why GT has become my online home.  When GT went down for a couple days, we got constant updates (usually every few hours) as to what was going on and what was being done to fix it.    Even when the fix took a bit longer than expected, we always knew the deal.   With OO...not so much.  I know they were doing some sort of upgrade, but is it down for a couple hours?  For the day?  The month?  Another couple months?  Who knows.

Anyways, kudos to you Ron for keeping us peons in the loop on the rare occasion things go screwy around here.   thumbsup

I am having a birthday party for my son today so hadn't noticed it was down. The VM was unresponsive so I rebooted and it seems to be back up. I will be looking into what happened tonight after the party.

Actually he and Miltonite are at my house right now. We are trying to get the gameserver to start a CSS server. Not everyone has TF2. I moved to cable internet so we have 20ms pings to the server from my house now.

Yes, I use VMware for everything I can now. Makes it so easy to backup and migrate across hardware I can't resist. The server OO is on could die and I would be able to have it back up in no time. Virtual is the only way! eek

I'm a huge fan of VM's  (I use VMware as well).  I would love to move all my Oracle and MSSQL databases to vmware images, but my boss is wary of doing so.  VMware was a godsend recently when I had to do some work on a client's Great Plains server and was having issues with the licensing when getting copies of their back end databases in house.  I used the free (at the time) vmware converter tool that makes a vm image out of a running system, ftp'd it to my office, started her up and viola...instant development environment using the clients production site.   icon_biggrin

Didn't they announce they were working on upgrading the site today, as well?  Maybe I'm not remembering that correctly, but I believe that was the case and GED said he would try to minimize the downtime.
