Is there some non-petty reason someone would need to do such a thing?

maybe he's planning a political career and doesn't want all his furry related posts to come back and haunt him.  quick, copy all of his stuff for sale to the highest bidder!!!  icon_twisted

Maybe THAT'S the reason OO went offline in the first place: to conceal the evidence! I suspect everyone AND I suspect no one.

No one leaves this room.

The answer to that question is no. We don't delete posts unless they violate the CoC and it's up to the individual to not log into their account.

ok, time to initiate the refugee re-settlement plan. Form up in orderly lines to get ready to be placed on these boxcars-  once you arrive there will be special showers for you to walk though to ensure your cleanliness for the Overlords.

Not funny.

Well, I just took a peek over there, and everything seems to be a-ok again.

I really like the way they have the quotations set up.  It's kind of snazzy.

Do users here have direct control over how quotations "look", or are we at the mercy of the system?  Just curious.

I don't get why people go to such lengths to aviod posting on other boards. I mean, I get having a preference and all, but though I prefer OO overall (at least I did pre-outage; we'll see what it's like now), I'm not going to deactivate my account here or anything drastic. Why change one's email to a fake one and/or ask the mods to wipe one off the forum altogether? Again, I understand preferences, but whatever one thinks of the modding and/or posters at a certain place, how can it be so bad that one has to disable completely access to that site?

My theory is that some people are addicted to surfing web forums and so they limit themselves to participating in one so they don't spend too much time just participating in web boards.

CeeKay is not to be denied; don't mess with 'im.

precisely!  I WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH!!!! You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!  Did you order the code red?  I did the job you sent me to do. Did you order the code red? You're goddamn right I did!!
