So OO comes back up and nobody goes to it. They keep coming back to this thread instead. It's like it's own mini forum.

I must be very naive to have thought a 'web forum' would be something repairable in a day, at the most. The way this has seemingly turned into some major event ("just three more days, guys!") strikes me as pretty funny.

Don't feel bad. I've worked in IT 10 years and thought it would be repairable in a couple of weeks tops.

If the repair was a constant process, it absolutely would have been back in a couple of weeks.

I'm not worried.

If we're not heard from in two more months, they'll sent out a detachment of Colonial Marines to see what's what.

I know most of you are getting antsy; scared even.

But look at Ceekay over there: he's survived months without weapons or training and he's just a little girl at heart.

So, stay alert and keep your laser pistols handy.

We are just finishing up the conversion and putting a little lipstick on the pig. It will be worth giving us a little time to make sure the basic functionalities are working well and that performance is acceptable before opening the floodgates, or trickle gates as the case may be. Either way for better or worse the time is near.

Exactly!  My gaming group has a stopped clock on the wall and we all look at it and can honestly say that we haven't wasted anytime playing games!

Not if it shows am/pm, as 99% of digitals do.  slywink  And that's assuming that it even stops.  Many digitals start counting time from the moment the power resets / they lose their memory / whatever, making them almost certain to be wrong 100% of the time until they're reset.

This digression brought to you by Kix.

I can also attest to "any minute now".. Conversions are relatively complete, Gedd has some indexing going on and I am working on adding some added admin tools in the background.  Rip has some nifty ideas for backup, and I will also ensure an "offsite" backup is being moved regularly to my VPS; so if a nuke lands on that data center we can move the forums to Khazakhstan.

I mean maybe you could call it "Mock Key Lime Pie" or something, but without the distinctive taste there's just no way it's going to come out the way it's supposed to.  It's like using butternut squash for a pumpkin pie.
