I really don't get the animosity between folks at GT and OO.  I read both boards, OO basically for the PC section and here for console section.

I think the fact that nothing is back up (even a "we're working on it" page) after 2 weeks is a pretty good indication that it's been nuked from orbit.   I've been around about half a dozen boards that went through similar nukings, and not one of them ever ended up coming back.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if it turns back on, but I highly doubt it'll happen at this point.  My guess is that OO is gone for good...which would really suck.

This is officially a cluster(beep).  Even if it does come back up, you have to wonder about what the health of the community will be.  People move on, develop relationships on other boards, etc.

From looking at it on the net it doesn't get good reviews much.

Pretty mixed reviews. Probably depends on what you're looking for. Fine dining, it's not. Fresh seafood in a funky waterfront setting, it is. There is surprisingly little competition for that in Boston, and the few waterfront places I've been to are severely overpriced tourist traps. I haven't been to the Crab, so I can't offer an opinion of my own. FishPants liked it. A guy named FishPants must know his seafood, wouldn't you think?

Here's the lowdown, and yes I love my seafood (and cook a lot of it myself, usually restaurants don't get it right as far as I'm concerned!):

1. The lobster is a standard lobster. Nothing fantastic, about $75 for a 2lb lobster. Steep price for a plain steamed lobster.
2. The mixed crab bowl was freaking fantastic. Lots of crab, different kinds (King, snow, and some Jonah crab claws which was a new one for me). Wow. All of it so sweet.
3. The calamari! MY GOD! I had this the last night in town, and it's a good thing. I would have had that every meal of every day otherwise! Sliced (really thin) jalapenos and a spicy aioli sauce. Damn.
4. Fried oysters I really really liked, my wife was so-so on them. Personal preference I guess.

Oh and the clam strips down at Castle Island were pretty fantastic (Sullivans).
