Anyone else still waiting for QT3's DNS move to kick in for the forums? They said they were doing it yesterday and I had no issues but as of this afternoon I get the "DNS migration" message and clearing my cache still hasn't solved the problem. I get the front page no problem. I guess it's just waiting for an update to trickle down to my end, but without the specific new DNS address I can't get to it.
Edit: Got it figured out. They changed DNS addresses but I'd forgotten that I'd assigned an address to QT3 a few years ago in my HOSTS file when they were doing some similar DNS stuff. That address is now outdated and that was why it wouldn't resolve. Deleting that line solved the problem.

Based on FishPants recent updates, he knew something was wonky with the server, he did backups last Friday, and was working with the server company to put an end to the recent issues.

Downtime should be 30 minutes according to them, but I'm going to say 60-90 minutes to be on the safe side.
At that point in time, the server will be totally offline and unavailable. In the meantime I'm going to take another database backup, so posting will be slow as the table is locked in the database for the backup. That's tonight. Just trying to stave off the usual flurry of a half dozen "hey, it's down again!" posts. |
