I wanted to get back into writing more fiction and was wondering if anyone else out there participated in some good online writing groups or communities that they were willing to refer me to. Nothing too serious, but I have and itch to get back into writing.

I have done the usual searches, but these days, going in blind with searches you find too much to look through, especially when you're looking for a smaller community to ease into.

So I'm posting here at GT and some of my other online haunts for recommendations. I know we've had a few here who do the Novel November thing.

I have mixed feelings about online writing groups. They can be good, don't get me wrong, but they can also be filled with know-it-alls that have never had anything published. Can I make a suggestion? Take a writing class instead. There are a number of sites that offer online courses taught by professional authors and you will get a lot more out of them than your run of the mill groups.
