I gotta admit i quite enjoyed it

I clicked on a story about it on MSN and it went to Fox Sports article(i wasn't aware those two were connected) and reading the comments it seemed most people didn't like it

One person was upset saying that the Tolkien Movies "shouldn't be celebrated because they were made in New Zealand",i guess they took the 'Green and Pleasant land' beginning the wrong way..and people were agreeing with him 


And i was wondering what those Metal ..things were for when the athletes were walking in,cool that they all connected to light the flame

Yep it seems the people that didn't like it didn't understand it. Unfortunately the intelligence level in the uk seems to have dropped so low unless it has subtitles and 3 letter words many don't like or understand it. I thought it was superb and summed up the UK perfectly.

One thing I heard mentioned was why was Abraham Lincoln in it!!!

Damn i missed the swimming,i was watching the beach Volleyball

Surprisingly Phelps had only just qualified so i heard(8th),but another American Ryan Lochte qualified 3rd,but Phelps has said at least he got a spot while Lochte said his first swim is always the worse and its good to get the cobwebs out

The first event this morning was Archery Team GB Vs Ukraine....yup,TGB got beaten ...good start(!),hopefully not a thing to come

Rowing(Womens and mens/2s and 4s) has had GB,US,Argentina and Germany winning and going through to next rounds of the various lots that i watched

There has been lots on,so not been able to catch everything(Table Tennis,Badminton,Horse prancing around whatever its called,Cycling,Judo,Tennis,Football,Gymnastics,Fencing,Weightlifting,Badminton,Handball have all been showed already this morning),it might be good having 24 channels of Sport for these events,now i just need 24 TVs 

I saw Womens Basketball and Canada was leading when i left it,but unfortunately they were beat in the end by Russia 58-53

USA archery just upset the #1 seed to go to the gold medal round!   

USA women's soccer just started, so odds are that will get a lot of my attention while flipping between the other five or six channels of Olympic sports we have on TV.

Just watched the gold medal archery match between USA and Italy.  I never knew archery could be so exciting.  It literally came down to the final arrow for Italy.  A 10 was needed to win gold, and Italy succeeded, winning by 1 point.  

USA still leads Columbia by 1 in women's soccer (a number of unsportsmanlike actions by Columbia throughout the first half).  

EDIT: Now up 3-0.   

Looking forward to the USA/FRA basketball game tomorrow despite getting tired of current "Dream Team" players suggesting superiority over 1992's original powerhouse.

1st Gold Medal of the games for the USA

Damn.  Had wanted to see the 1st USA gold.  Was instead watching the 16-year-old phenom Ariel Hsing dominate in table tennis.  

During the winter olympics I was surprised at how much entertainment I gained from "unusual" sports like curling, and today I really enjoyed archery and table tennis, but I couldn't watch more than just a few minutes of dressage, and women's basketball has also been a struggle.  But there have still been some fun "unusual" events, such as the Italy/Korea fencing match going on right now with a huge comeback by Italy.  Pretty exciting.

My favourite part was the giant Puppets in the Great Ormond Street Hospital scene(GOSH),although the portrayal of the Villains had to give some credit to Walt Disney as Captain Hook,Queen of Hearts and Cruella Deville all looked like their Disney counterparts,but that's fine,they are the ones i grew up with

Just saw the opening ceremonies.  Enjoyed it, but I thought it went on too long.  either that or the rebroadcast had way too many commertial breaks.  The neat thing for me was that i got to watch it in 3d on the olympic 3d session.  The depth was very good, and the confetti with GB was floating out there.  Yes, I like my LG.

An absolute farce right now with the Fencing with Germany Vs South Korea

they were down to the last second and it being 5-5

and all the South Korean needed to do was defend and i think she would be through(so i think the commentators said) and in the last second they were both hitting each other at the same time(so no points awarded),everytime they hit each other the clock is stopped and they resume their starting positions,and then the time is carried on...they did this about 3 times hitting each other within this last second,fractions of seconds running down each time..it was at a point that the last second looked like it just was not running down


They hit each other and the game was stopped again,but that last fraction of a second ran down while the game was stopped,so because it should not of ran down while the game had stopped(we are talking milliseconds) they just added another second and then when the game started again the German hit the Korean

The Korean coach is going apeshit,the Korean fencing girl is crying and the Timekeepers/Refs/Olympic officials have been discussing what to do for the last 15 minutes

They are now saying that the last second was more than a second,but they are still discussing it



EDIT: nearly 30 minutes of discussion and Germany has been rewarded the match...joke

Korean girl is in tears again,sat crossed legged on the floor

She has to compose herself as she needs to fence for the Bronze medal

just not cool at all


EDIT 2: The Korean Coach has handed in a written appeal,the Korean fencer is still sat on the floor crying

it's just a really shitty situation

EDIT 3: So an hour later,She has been 'dragged' off the floor now by Two officials and she has been handed a yellow card(which i have no idea means in Fencing),the bronze bout was due to start 20 minutes ago,but not sure what is going on now

Yeah they got a draw and now have advanced to the quarter finals, which means I've now officially caught Olympic fever.  So far my country men and women has only won slightly more than a handful of bronze, but that we now have the 1st diver to win medals in 4 consecutive Olympics and that we got a surpise bronze in judo, has helped alleviate the pain that were really only a winter olympics contender. I've got to say the games being in London has given them a sort of epic feel for me.
